^ Yeah, kind of like finally getting a bite from an agent--they want a partial! Woohoo!--and then getting a rejection letter after they read the first 3-5 chapters of the novel. Grrr.

Great Hopping Toads of San Diemas, this place is awsome. Thanks for showing me abit of the Buffyverse I can watch without fear of spoilage.

I just watched the Buffy and Angel Pilots. The Buffy one was good, but thank god they recast Willow! I couldn't imagine that actress being Willow throughout the seasons! And the dusting scene was sooo cheap! Luckily they improved that! It was so cheap it was kinda funny LOL!

The Angel pilot was basically a recap but it was still good! It explained everything and showed what the show is about. ::bbat::
 
I've started to watch the Buffy pilot but I must say I found it so boring I couldn't bring me to watching it all. It's probably good they still changed a lot of things before airing, especially the Willow recast, otherwise the show wouldn't have been quite the same.
 
Watching that ruined it for me.. the MOMENT I saw Stephen Tobolowsky as the principal.. oh. That would have just been golden. I wish I wish.
 
I'm watching the unaired pilot for the first time ever in my entire life! So far the entire darla entrance scene is different, same with Buffy, Willow Xander... then Flutie is dif :/ Willow is Dif.. eek so far I am glad this pilot wasn't the original. Oh my god and a completely dif library? Dif school...
 
Principal Flutie is pretty hilarious in it. "Bambi? uh..Betty? Betty? Wilma?" "Buffy."
Don't like Willow in it, she doesn't seem like that good an actress compared to AH.
But overall, it was still good, it is Buffy after all.
 
i just watched it and i was actually quite surprised by how good it was, for a pilot anyway. Much of the dialogue seems like classic joss and is genuinely funny and many of the actors clearly established their characters immediatley in this which is pretty cool to see. Willow was wank though, really didn't like her, and Darla died!? imagine if that had happened in 'welcome to the hellmouth'...would have destroyed the clasic angel backstory.
 
I am only halfway through watching it, and I must say I am glad that they went with showing the one we all know and love.

Though I must say the library was pretty cool.

I've run out of karma for the day, but I agree. That alternate Flutie was my very favorite part of it, had me seriously cracking up! And my best wishes to the 1st Willow but I just can't see it, I try, but I just cannot see her working out. It was fun to watch and its interestng to comapre, but ultimately the unaired pilot was too campy and cheesy, FAR more so than what we wound up with, the changes they made were neccesary, IMO... except Flutie! 🙂

I think I might rewatch the pilot again to get some fresh insight...can't sleep, hell, why not? Here I go...

Ok, so just rewatched it...

Some comments:

Xander looks so cute! That look he gives to Buff when he first meets her? Priceless. He's in love!! hehe

What's up with that Martha Stewart quote??!! Huh? Didn't get that.

I love how Xander is showing her around the school, showing her the differnt groups of friends. Really sets the stage for them being good friends 🙂

I do like that actress whom was sopposed to play Willow...she seems cute and likeable. And that vamp whos hitting on her is pretty hot!

Random Girl: That girl seems kinda wierd. What kind of a name is Buffy? (waves to friend) Hey Aphrodsia!

I must say, this principal is way cooler...its funny that he actually let her look at the body.

I think all and all the episode has a lot of mystery...like if I saw it I would def keep tuning in.

Buffy: "You don't soppose you can all be sweeties and attack me one at a time?" (haha)

Where exactly are they during the fight scene? The school drama club props room?

Overall rating: 7/10. Very entertaining and campy!

And man, how cool of Giles to use a quote from Hamlet..."There are more things in heaven and earth then are dreamt of in your philosophy"... 🙂

Who even says Lush anymore??
 
If I remember correctly the chap who played Principle Flutie was Stephen Tobolowsky who was the annoying 'Ned' in Groundhog Day. I would SO have prefered him.

Ohh and he played Elles dad in Heroes - the character that turned anything he touched into Gold I think.

Yes! Thats one of the scenes I meant to mention that I loved and wished they'd kept in. It was a good scene, going around the school yard and pointng out all the different cliques.
