Buffy Rewatch Part 2

A Hole in the World and Shells introduces one of my favourite characters in the Buffy Verse; Illyria , she's awesome.
I prefer Shells as an episode and I always love Angel giving his speech about fighting for humanity and Wesley just straight up murders Knox and Angels "were you even listening" 😂

AHITW is painful and heartbreaking viewing, but Amy Acker knocks it out of the park.
What always, always gets me is the look of horror on Lorne's face when Fred starts singing and then she collapses.

Spike and Angel on their quest to help Fred and realising there's nothing they can do.

Perhaps it's just me, but the romance between Wes and Fred never came through. No real chemistry or connection, I was never convinced by them as a couple. Even in their final hours together, the love seems more one-sided from Wes.

But oh god the, "Please, Wesley..why can't I stay?" - it gave me chills just to even write that line. 🙁

Underneath, which introduces Adam Baldwin as Hamilton, he"s really great managing to be both humorous and really threatening without trying at the same time, hes a 1000% improvement on Eve. That scene and his expression while Harmony is trying and failing to snap his neck is 😂
Also David Boreanaz is a big guy yet AB just towers over him. Adam Baldwin on the DVD Commentary mentioned that David was intimidated by him because of his size !

Love Spikes Knight Rider reference in this 😃

This is also the episode where they are told the show is being cancelled. On the DVD Commentary its on said it was during the Basement monster fight when they are rescuing Lindsey.

Regardless of being together for a day or a year, it didn't work for me. I always thought Fred and Gunn were the better couple.

I wouldn't compare Xander - he was a teen when he was crushing on Buffy. Wes is a grown man.

I would, he has Buffy on this pedestal thats a bit creepy.

What is kind of funny is that Cordelia (the same age as Xander) in Your Welcome is meant to be 22 yet Charisma looks like a beautiful woman in her 30s which is what she is.

You're free to interpret that as you like, Xander admired Buffy and crushed on her but that eventually faded.

So Origin and Time Bomb

Origin is the best Connor episode the show did and when When Wesley gets his memories back it's such a brilliant moment.

Sajahan "Nah Im just joking" 😄

Time Bomb the episode that features David Boreanaz wife.
The best scene is when Illyria kills them all. There's a bit to much technobabble but its still a good episode
I do love Hamiltons lines "This is a business boys not a bat cave"
And the other
Hamilton "Curing Cancer Mr Wyndham Price ?"
Wesley "No it wouldn't be cost effective"
Hamilton "Its true the Pattern holder is a client"

OK Im gonna say something that will be very controversial. I really liked That Girl in Question.
I laughed a lot at the Angel/Spike antics in Rome while finding Illyria antics creepy and you can see them break Wes. Amy Acker really shines especially as when she's Illyria in Fred's body. The automatic switch in body posture is great.
Though Wes and Angel really should've told Fred's Parents she was dead. That they didn't given it was a dying wish was pretty bad.

No where is that said and Iv just rewatched it. @NotASlayer same for your comment as well. It says the girls are 15 and no where does it say Kennedy is older

I thought Kennedy talked about "aging out" of being called in one of the boring eps between CWDP and GID? I took that as her being at least 18.

Well the season and Series Finale Not Fade Away on the one hand Its far better than Chosen as a Finale (Wesley death is really powerful and Spike at the Poetry event) on the other hand lyeah it does end on a cliff hanger.
That all said the shot of them all in the rain waiting for the end is fantastic

To me, the issues isn't that it's a bad episode. It would actually be a decent filler episode....if it had aired MUCH earlier in the season. But you have three episodes left in the series... and one of them is wasted on this.

My guess is, Tom Lenk was Plan D, with SMG being plan A, MT being Plan B, Plan C being anyone but TL or NB, and Plan D being Lenks. That's why the episode was pushed back.

David Fury has said that SMG was never going to be in the episode but MT was meant to be
