K so for the last couple months I've been setting my VCR to record Buffy every Monday-Friday, since it comes on at 4AM where I live. Had a real good thing going, then I was checking out the guide and I noticed-after this Monday, there aren't any Buffy episodes listed until next Saturday and Sunday! Has FX changed it so it's only on weekends now? Or, and this is what I'm hoping for, are they just changing it up a bit for this week and going back to normal next week?

It would REALLY suck if FX stopped showing Buffy, as I don't really have the money for the DVDs right now and I haven't seen any other channels that show it. Anyways thanks for any help you can provide.

are you in the UK or the US? FX in the UK is showing BTVS every week day at 11am...or at least they were last week. i'll check tomorrow to see if it's changed.

FX gives Buffy at 7 in the morning where im from. And it was also from Monday to Friday, and i just checked out the tv guide schedule and they don't have Buffy after Monday, till the week end, and its to early to see the schedule for the week after but im hoping that its not permanent because this is also what i watch in the morning while i get ready for school, but anything knew that i find ill post

i dont see why they would change it but something that had me thinking that it might be a permanent change is that after the 10th, which is Monday, theres no more till the weekends, and the episode that they're giving that days is Once More With Feeling.

so maybe they're ending on it to get people to tune in on the weekend or something, because who wouldnt want to see whats after OMWF if they're new to buffy or even if their not

i don't have a TV giude right now, but the last ep i watched on Friday was something in S2...um, 'The Dark Age' i think. weird that they're jumping to 'OMWF'

I dont think they skipped, they had been on s6 for at least the past week, i guess the schedules are different here then they are there

Yeah it looks like just weekends but I really hope not-cutting down to only 2 Buffies a week would be way hard! Guess we'll know by next weekend for sure.

Well this sucks!

The time I actually get a chance to watch it (because I have to wake up early and it comes on at 6 where I'm at) is the time FX wants to change the schedule, again!

Remember the good old days when Buffy was playing 4 times a day? In the morning and in the evening? And then they changed that so it would play 4 times but in the morning and the afternoon. Then they changed that to 3 episodes a day, (2 in the morning and one in the afternoon). Then they stopped showing them in the afternoon. Then they stopped having 2 episodes in the morning and only showed it at 6 (where I'm at, at least). And now they're going to only play them on the weekends. 🙁

I am now depressed...

Well, nothing's 100% yet.

If it is changed to weekends, maybe we can email FX and complain or something...just an idea...

BTVS was on at the usual time on FX today, so apparently this isn't a UK thing. sorry guys 🙁

I can check about 2.5 weeks in advance, I will check my guide and let you know what I come up with.

Edit:

Yup, all I am getting for Buffy is weekends, and one epi only. I am very sad, even tho I never watch them, it just seems like we are losing all things buffy. Well, atleast we have dvds.

🙁
Thanks for checking TabulaRasa. Major bummer that it's only 1 ep a weekend...
I guess I'll look on the bright side...at least now, I can start watching Angel when it gets back to S1. They're still showing that on TNT in case anyone didn't know.

TabulaRasa
I didn't mind checking at all. I hope there will be one epi sat and sun. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Just so everyone knows, it looks like they are showing episodes on Saturday and Sunday. Still only 2 a week but it's better than 1!

Buffy On FX

I'm not sure how many of you know this, but in true "Fox" style, FX is messing around with their showings of Buffy.
They took it off the weekday mornings and moved it to weekends....but not only that, they seem to be kind of hand picking which weekends they show it and which episodes they might skip like pulling numbers out of a hat.
They don't seem to want to STOP airing it so that someone else could pick it up and show it, but they don't want to actually SHOW it either.

As someone who only recently became a Buffy fan BECAUSE of the showings on FX, I'm here to say that running it in syndication is VITAL to the show living on. And I am FURIOUS with FX at the moment. The change in the schedule caused a HUGE uproar on the FX message boards, which they seem to be just ignoring outright. They did get a moderator to go in and say that they're aware, but have released NO word as to even why they did it or why they won't show it EVERY weekend on it's new time slot.

Anyway, there is a petition that was started for people to sign to get FX to listen.
FX and Buffy the Vampire Slayer Schedule Petition

I'm not sure how much weight I put on the petition or anything since no one seems to be listening, but I thought since there are so many fans here, it could boost the numbers and maybe FORCE them to rethink it or at least release some network Mumbo-Jumbo on why they don't care.

As an added bonus, SINCE this schedule change, I've had to deal with 1.) FX's going above and beyond to try to not notice that Buffy actually HAD viewers every morning. (TNT tried to go to one showing of Angel and listened to it's viewers and within a month put it back the way they had it, so it obviously CAN be done.)
2.) The FOX canceling of the Buffy Sing-A-Long showings.
and 3.) Fox came in and CANCELED an auction I had won on eBay for the Buffy disks (AFTER THE AUCTION ENDED) because it was the BBC release of the disks and they don't won't those sold in the US. Not really something they have the "legal" right to do in most cases, but can do on eBay because they are VERO members and can cancel things that they think interfere with their business.
And, 4.) I only just learned of Firefly and what they did to it.

Needless to say, I'm not THRILLED with Fox or any of it's little Fox children at the moment and what seems to be their mission in life to squash Joss Whedon and all his works.
Aside from summoning a demon to make zillions and buying out Fox and revamping it, my only outlet seems to be this girl's petition. So, if you DID watch Buffy on FX....or you're just mad at Fox, please go sign!

I don't understand Fox's decisions. Buffy is, several years after the show ended, still one of the most profitable franchises they own. Instead of encouraging the continued proliferation of the Buffyverse, the damn suits do everything in their power to squash it. I realize there are royalties to be paid when a show is shown in syndication, but come on - the merchandising alone should cover that. And based on the crowds at the Buffy tracks at Dragon*Con, there's still an appetite for all things Whedon. *shakes head* doesn't make a damn bit of sense...
