I'd so win this. What does it mean that you'd end up in a comic? They use your real name for a character? I can see it now, Nathaniel battling Buffy to the death. I'd kick her ass in comic book form.

Go for it BEG. You've got all that enthusiasm, lol.
Oh Yeah enthusiasm but not so much with the writing skills! 🙂

LMAO!

Sounds cool... although I can't decide if I'd want to be a slayer or a witch 😛

uh, i think it means that the winning letter will end up in the comic...am i right, or am i getting confused? or just being stupid as always?

on second thoughts, maybe it is something like 'Nathaniel' is saying. lol

Well, it says "you could end up appearing" not "your essay could end up appearing".

I'd like to get #1 signed by Joss...

yeah, it'd be cool to win a signed #1
betcha there are gonna be thousands of entries, though. 🙁

I'm SOOOO entering this!!! And I wanna win so badly if the prize is to appear in the comic. My last chance to be on Buffy (kind of). I'm not sure what to write, what are they looking for? I'm trying to get inside Joss' head. Any suggestions from people who aren't gonna enter?

Maybe it should be a funny personal anecdote, story - something specific that illustrates your hardcore buffyfanatic-ness.

Maybe a free-form poem...or a series of Buffy haikus, lol (those are her faves).

I would go for anecdotal. Either something large and grand,(Buffy saved your life in some way) or something really small and mundane, (buffy gave you the inspiration to perform some miniscule task). If you go big the situation should be comedic and it should be within the realms of possibility, but don't play it for laughs. If you go small, there should be lots of build up, toss in lots of references from things Joss likes and then end it with the smallest possible punchline.

Or you could try to create a story using only dialogue from the show, though I think that might be hard to make it cohesive.

You could say Buffy made you a Democrat, then tell a Bush joke. 🙂

How about a piece on the intelligence of BtVS fans. Key themes would be a lack of subtlety and an ant like quality inherent in a fair few fans. You could end with the joke that the only time a nerd gets laid is when his stepfather is horny.

i entered, too and i live in the UK. you should just go ahead and enter, Epo.

Aly, the Vampire Slayer...now WHERE have i heard that before? lmao!!
