on Jo Chen's MySpace Page , the title she gives for the #8 cover is 'Faith Battles Buffy'

This is emerging storyline is great, but it sucks! I want to see this stuff in the tv series 🙁
 
A while ago, it was announced that the comic series was going to have a subtitle from issue 6 onwards. If you look at the the cover for issue 6 at TAFW (not just the cover art, but the actual cover) you can see that the subtitle is "Joss Whedon's Season Eight". No real spectacular news or anything... just thought I'd share.
 
i'm with VG. i mean, it's good, better than anything i could come up with that's for damn sure, but, i don't know, it's just not as good as previous issues.
won't stop me buying it, though, so i don't know why i'm complaning!
 
Can anyone tell me what the name of the bank is of which we can see the Neon sign on page 2 of the preview? It's so small I can't really make it out. I think it says "ONG Bank"
 
I don't think it's Ohio, even though that would make sense. I have a sneaking suspicion that someone it's a hint about something or an inside joke. If they're gonna have neon lights, it can't possible be just neon lights. Those girls in Rome weren't reading just any comic after all.

The second word definitely seems to read "bank" and the third character on the first row might be a Q?

'One Bank' maybe? as in Chosen One? i don't know, i'm fishing here...
 
The first time I saw that art it was in black and white. I didn't care for it then, but thought it might be better in color. Not really though, is it? Kind of like a rush job, or something.

Vaughan has Faith's voice and attitude down though. That's more important.

Couldn't help noticing Faith refers to Wood as her "Ex".

I think the art's pretty much on par with the whole series. It's dark out, so maybe a little drab. I think Andy Owens sometimes gets a little too ragged, casual looking with the inking (no reason to lay everything at Jeanty's feet). I think #2 has been my fave so far, art-wise.

I was reading on Wiki that "No Future for You" is a nod to "God Save the Queen" lyrics (Sex Pistols).
 
In that last link you put up N4H, if you browse the source site it says that the building used to be the "Bank One Center" and now it's the Fifth Third Bank building. So, I'm voting it's supposed to be "One Bank".
 
After reading that Brian Vaughan interview Goldenboy posted I have a theory. Brian Vaughan is from Cleveland. I'm thinking maybe he described background details of Clevelend to his penciler. The penciler worked with that, and whatever easy pics of Cleveland he could scoop of the internet. So what you wind up with is the statue from the bridge in Cleveland, a building with "One" in red lettering, and a kind of Gotham meets Cleveland look to the city.
 
why are the faith inks looking so off? maybe she's just a hard person to draw.

What’s one thing you were able to write into you arc that you absolutely couldn’t have done if it were still part of the TV series?

VAUGHAN: I don’t want to spoil anything, but there’s a midair fight scene in issue #7 that probably would have used up the budget for an entire season of the TV series. Plus, I imagine Standards and Practices would have had a problem with all of my graphic, graphic sex scenes. Reserve your copy today, kids!
