I was just on my Windows Media Player and stumbled upon this:Buffy Studies
It is a whole segment on "Buffy Studies" that npr news radio station did sometime in May 2003. Scholars and profesors have joined together and started to looking deep into Buffy the Vampire Slayer. They have come up with philosophies from the show, and they say that the show has a greater, deeper meaning than just a California girl killing vamps. I always knew the show had hidden messages in it, but i thought this was really interesting that these people have had buffy philosophy conventions. So check it out!
 
That was cool. I wish Buffy was one of the subjects at my school lol.
 
Ya know, that does and doesn't surprise me. I'm not surprised that Buffy is worthy of study on any of those levels because it really does deal in very deep multi-layers that most definately deserve the attention and indepth study. But I am surprised that others actually see that. It kinda makes you feel even better for being so deeply involved in something when you don't just love it but realize it has an extra special quality to it that actually speaks more for those of us that watch it.

In other words...IN YOUR FACE to those that reguard Buffy as brainless, shallow. silly nonsense! HA! 😛

I looked up Buffy in the Universities guide but no luck. However I think in A2 Media Studies you have to write an essay about something, most people do the representation of women in... but I may see if I can manage one about buffy, if not "The Representation of Witchs in Television" and mention Buffy (well Willow/Tara)
 
Wow! I can't wait to search for that at Marquette, which is right where I live! My new favorite college! yay! Buffy clases!
