Could you please help me on giving your opinion on how buffy is a smash hit television show, and do yho think buffy represents woman positivly, iconic??

To answer your question, I think the show was a hit because it related to the viewers on so many levels. Sure we weren't out there battling vampires and things from the Hellmouth, but pretty much everyone went through high school and could relate to the issues that were shown on the episodes. We were all battling our own personal demons. 🙂

I do think that BTVS represents women positively. Some would maybe disagree and say that Buffy was a sex icon and I would not agree with that statement whatsover. I would think that people who would say that never once watched an episode. The shows characters were very real and realistic (despite the demon aspect) I mean we got Buffy a girl that wants so desperatly to be normal, she pretty and young and wants to do teenage things. She will grow up and mature accept responsibility, deal with relationships ect...she is MORE than just a hot slayer.

We have her geeky friend Willow that will learn to embrace herself and suddenly blossom. We have a sweet sensitve guy friend who fills awkward moments with humor. A mother who only wants to share in her daughters life and will unconditionally love her. ect... The characters are the reason the show was a hit.

Hello and welcome to the boards! 🙂 I think Buffy was definitely represented women positively. You only have to look at the main female characters to see that. 🙂

I don't know that I can add any more to what everybody else has said. But yes I think Buffy definately represented women positively.
