I think... probably not. Although in The Laundry Files, anyone who kills vampires is a serial killer, because no-one else would do it, Buffy likely isn't. For one thing, she generally doesn't murder vampires; she fights them and they die in battle. Serial killers don't tend to do that. Even Dexter, a serial killer of serial killers (and vampires can be, from the human perspective, serial killers, as vampires would have a body count of their own), preferred not to take on others in a fair fight, drugging them and killing them. There are undoubtedly more than a few soldiers over the years with similar body counts.

Look, the show's statement is that the vampire should be understood as the demonic parasite that has reanimated the dead, and completely deprived of any real humanity unless ensouled. This is subjective, of course, but still reasonable. It's not like, let's say, a situation where a Human has been possessed by a Demon, and to kill the Demon you must kill the Human. The Human is long gone, what remains is an impersonator. Vampires, by and large, view human beings as things, or at best, livestock. Killing them has no moral weight.

Now, I'm not saying that vampires can't have the ability to experience remorse, but that's a different show.

Err what? The vampire kills the human, then the demon that controls the vampire causes the humans body to be re-animated.
Hence
after the shows Spike 'sleeps' with Buffy does the vampire known as Spike apologise to Buffy?
Mind you Spike was never one whose thoughts meant much.

I don't believe Spike was written with a set of rules in mind. The best I can say, Spike would apologize to Buffy if he thought apologizing would make his life easier or get him what he wanted, rather than a genuine sense of remorse for his actions. Or, Jasmine did it

The worst part of the whole franchise for me. so plot convenient and it didn't even pay off..


But I think from the vampires' perspective... if they're just trying to grab a late night snack and some blond girl is out there stalking them just to kill them... not even asking if they're evil evil or if they're kind that drink enough blood and let the human heal.. like.. that kind little house that Riley was in, where the vamps could get fed but not have to kill people..
