BUFFY THE ANIMATED SERIES: Resurrected?

It would be cool, but I don't know if Buffy is meant for Animation. It's always seemed more adult to me. If they can make it cartoon, saturday morning, worthy, then I'm in, but it all depends on how they choose to do it. Spike is to ...er... adult for a cartoon and without him it's not Buffy. I don't know. I do wanna see how they pull it off.

I do agree with the BlueEyedVamp.....dumbing down something like BTVS into too cartoony a form runs the risk of alienating a lot of fans. Buffy is not for kids.

If something like this is to work in animation, you need to do it in a much darker vein, keeping it as similar in tone to it's live action predecessor as you can get it.

Look at the SPAWN animated series. It stayed true to it's original comic book roots...and it worked. If they had tried to make it into the usual generic kiddie show fluff....well, can you say BOMB?

I guess we'll all have to wait and see what it is that Joss ultimately has in mind for this.

The basic scheme of Buffy might have made a good cartoon, had it not been a real series first. A girl who kills vampires sound Saturday morning cartoon worthy, but they through in a bunch of dark stuff in the series that isn't cartoon material. (Spike for example.) If they wanna stay true to the series, it needs to be on a channel like MTV or VH1 or something. It can't be put on Disney or NIck. If it does start over and change, it will lose tons of Buffyverse fans, but it might gain some eight or nine year olds who watch that channel and never saw the series. Does that make since?
