What do you think about the upcoming Buffy animated series? It looks to have a lot of possibility since most of original actors have signed on to it. Also with the return of Tara it brings allot of possibility. Do you think it will go foward season 8ish? Or will it be a prequel? Or be like the books and be in an alternate Buffy Universe?

: vampy :

Edit: just read an article at Animation Insider that says it will find the Buffy gang back in school which is odd since it's been confirmed in TV Guide that Amber Benson is returning...weirdness.

Buffy Animated Series Casting Rumours

I was surfing the net, for Buffy Animated news, when I found a site with A Buffy Animated Rumour Article.Unfortunatley, I lost the site.Sorry, 'bout that.Anyways this is the rumour:

-----------------------------------------------------------
Buffy Animated Casting Rumours

A friend of mine, who is a casting director on BTAS, told me this recently.Rumours are Julie Benz, Juliet Landau, and James Marsters, are coming back, to do the voices for their characters, ounce more. But in BTAS, Spike won't be in it, neither will Drusilla. They will only be appearing in one flashback, to Angel's past.Darla, is rumoured to be the Big Bad for the first half of the episodes. That's all for now.So hopefully, the rumours are true.Oh ya, another rumour is, there will be another slayer in the show.Rumour has it that, a slayer turned vampire, from Greece, is set to appear in one episode of the series.Rumours for the names of this slayer is:Haley, Heather Lockhart, and Gina Mayvin.

-----------------------------------------------------------

What do you think of this article?I think this is all a big giant hoax.

You know, I'm really not sure at this point. I think I'll be able to make a better judgement once the first episode is viewable. I haven't seen that much information on it lately. The thing with Tara is kinda confusing, but I'm glad to see her again!

Oz and Spike were supposed to come back, but that turned out to me a rumor of course, that was later proved false. I didnt hear about the Daria/Drusilla rumor, but I haven't heard if it's true or not. I'd actually like to see Daria as a big bad. I kinda like her.

That would be cool, but Darla was a big bad in season 2 of Angel.I'd like to see her, and other fav characters come back animated.

Okay so this is how I feel...Why did the show ever end!?! Why a cartoon! I want the real deal in 3freakinD. I mean i'm happy that the Buffy legacy lives on. But NO Sarah either!?! It's like a half-ass deal. I guess I'll watch just to be a loyal fan. But come on! Bring back the original show!

I'll watch it cause I'll always be a loyal fan of the Buffyverse, but not overly thrilled about it. Especially with different voices for some of the characters. But I'll wait and see berfore I make any further judments.

I think it would be a good way to introduce the Buffy-verse to a new group of people, but I am skeptical about how they are going to portray the whole thing.

I mean the reason why Buffy was so good is because it was meant for mature audiences and could take risks, but if it was meant for little kids, then I don't think it could be that edgy.

I am going to watch it. But I really don't want to see cartoons having their little sex capades like Spike and Buffy actually did. It's not right.

I know that Emma Caulfield said if she was asked by Joss to do Anyanka/Anya she'd do it (so yay...and a bit more of info there)

But I got the impression that there wouldnt be a Big Bad, I thought the whole idea of the cartoon was to do stand alone episodes...or...was I wrong?

I hope that there is a Big Bad, because that was one of my favourite parts of the show, it really helped to progress the character development.

Emma isn't going to return, because she doesn't want to.She was supposed to die in season 3, but didn't.She didn't wanna stay in the series, because she didn't plan on staying for a long time. When she found out that she was gonna die in season 7, she agreed to have her character die, so there was no possible way to revive her, anymore either in Angel or a new Buffy series.I read this interview in 2003, from an article in buffy.nu-A site filed with article, pics, interviews, and more!I have no idead where you got that info, but It is not true.

To get more information of BTAS, you can chk Buffy.nu, or whedonesque.com, for more information. The BTAS eps, will be stand alone episodes, like The Simpsons. It means that it is a stand alone episode. As in everything begins and ends in one episode.Just think of the episodes in the simpsons, if ur confused. It will be based on season 1.But there are no big bads, its just stand alone episodes. There will be no mature subject matters, like the buffy and spike thing. It will have no gross stuff like on buffy, you know what i mean.the mature things aren't used, because this will be for younger viewers.

Yes but this is the animated series set around S1. She doesn't want her character to continue but at this point she wasn't dead.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it...It might be extremely interesting to see how they include all the info we fans have...

And..she wasn't in season 1.She told Joss dat she didn't want to return, because she didn't plan on staying that long.

She didn't want to continue the character but this isn't continuing, this is pre-character development and its only the voice. Spike and Dru weren't in S1 either.

Return to where? The shows over. Unless you meant S3 then from the interviews ive heard she was really happy about getting the part, it wasn't her that decided Anya should die in The Gift but rather Joss. However she did say she wanted her character to die in Chosen as a nice way to wrap her character but, however this would be before that so not messing with the death.

I'm looking forward to it, I'm hoping they don't aim it too much at kids but if they do bah, will be my secret shame. Anyway I hope they dont try and come up with reasons why the universe is different (eg Tara being there), just go with it. I'd love to see some mild flirtation between Tara and Willow while in high school.

Yes she did!

She said it at a convention when someone asked her about the animated series, at the Tampa convention actually, that if Joss asked/needed her voice, then she would gladly do it...
