So what age range are these 2 cartoon subjected towards?

Both of these are examples of cartopons that work on multiple levels, with jokes for kids and adults.

Point taken, both programs can definitely be subjected to a wide age range *if* classifying them broadly. I was just merely comparing their stances to more adult orientated cartoons e.g. ones that include stronger references; sex, violence, drugs, etc. I mean you can't say the nature of the Rugrats and the Powerpuff Girls are on the same levels as things like Perfect Blue, Ninja Scroll, Urotsukidoji and the whole "Hentai" industry which use all the aforementioned themes. Not really being suitable for children, (at all!) there's definitely border lines when categorising cartoons.
 
now this is the most i heard on the show on the message board im normally on hardly anyone has heard of it i heard it has mostly to do with the in between screens like her learning to drive and it will have a lot of humor in it wont have the really really scary type of stuff but will have like some mystery stuff but im saddened to hear davids voice wont be in it::crying2:
 
its running a little behind probably because of firefly the new show but it was suppose to be out in feb but there deciding on networks im glad it wont be on fox though cause i dont have that

'Buffy' Toon Green-Lighted

Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon spoke for the first time about the departure of comic artist Jeph Loeb as boss of the proposed Buffy animated series, telling SCI FI Wire that Loeb left because of production delays. Whedon added that the series has finally been given a green light. "The process took so long to put the package together, it just came together on Friday [June 14], and he got an offer, a big deal over at Warner Brothers, and he had to move on," Whedon said in an interview. "He'd been shepherding it for over a year. We'd put together a bunch of great scripts. He's done an amazing job, but there was no light at the end of the tunnel. It was a really difficult process, and Chris Buchanan, the president of my company, finally got it through, but Jeph had to move on."

As for when the series might hit the airwaves, Whedon said, "I literally just heard on Friday it's a go. That's all the information I have right now, except we already have a bunch of scripts."

There are no hard feelings on Whedon's end, and he still hopes to include Loeb on some level, Whedon said. "We love Jeph, and he loves the project, and hopefully we'll be able to find some involvement. But the fact of the matter is, it just took so long."

i'd be interested to hear who the cast is for the cartoon, i bet it will turn out all slapsticky or whatever like when they made Clerks a cartoon...not that that's bad. i hope that, if they can't get all the existing actors to play their characters, they get ones that actually sound like who they're supposed to be. not just some guy doing a bad english accent...

I agree...the Buffy cartoon should be for a more mature audience! But hey...I'll watch it either way 😉
 
I don't know about this. The regular show is great already but to make it animated, well... Besides that, what's the show going to be like, is it going to be for kids or is it going to be like The Simpsons?
 
Alyson will be providing the voice for her Willow character in a new animated series coming this fall Buffy, the Animated Series.

The series is now in production, with five episodes promised. If ratings do well, then more episodes will be purchased. Not much is know about the series now, except that Joss Whedon and executive producer Jeff Loeb is looking at animated series like Batman Beyond for stylistic inspiration . shame bout David its not been confirmed if Sarah will be dooing her voice ,or at least it hadnt been last time i checked anyone know bout her?
