Now that's a handsome bit of animation, eh? I really do hope they go through with this....looks and sounds like it could be fun. I just hope they don't lighten up the tone of the stories TOO much.
Quite frankly...I don't know what the problem is here. With all the crap, nonsense programs that are aired on TV all the time...why would networks turn down a QUALITY sure thing? It's not like this thing will bomb. They'll get the ratings, believe me!

ooooo YAY they might make a cartoon buffy? i hope they do...would it be different to the buffy we know and love though??? i mean being a cartoon it would probably be aimed at younger people and so part of that buffy homour might not be there
Hey Old Master, Where did ya get those animations? They are great! Is that what they are really considering? They capture each of the real actors perfectly! But would they even be allowed to look like them?
I think they should make it for movie channels so they can be as dark as they want kinda like Spawn. I only say that because I'm worried that they will make it more for a younger audience. It would be too bad if they strayed too far from the original Buffy feel.

I think it would be sooooo cool! I mean they can really show off Buffy's super strength in animation. So if this does happen will it start when the scooby gang is in High School, and if so will it be completely new story lines or similar ones to the original show? I would want some reference to the original show otherwise I'll be sitting there like, "that didn't happen!" I do hope they get the show off the ground. With Buffy over, Joss whould have more tme to work on it, right?

If they don't go with the aforementioned plan of computer animation, they will use the ones you saw...which are the original cels.
My sentiments exactly, Rayne! You don't want to disenchant your core audience by dumbing it down too much. If it is to work at all, they need to keep it dark. But I dunno, from what we see in the picture I showed, putting Dawn in PIGTAILS is a bad sign...lol. But let's stay optimistic.
According to the site, the series will go back to Season 1, (or possibly 2), but it will be set in the altered reality created in S5, which means Dawn will exist earlier than she did. They will do completely new stories, but there is always the possibility some will tie in to episodes of the live action series. Joss has already written 14 episodes.
Also according to the site:
"Nicholas Brendon (Xander), Alyson Hannigan (Willow), Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia) & James Marsters (Spike) are all expected to voice their characters from the live action series.
Neither Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy) or David Boreanaz (Angel) are expected to voice their characters... neither are Seth Green (Oz), Eliza Dushku (Faith) or Anthony Stewart Head (Giles).
Although Emma Caulfield (Anya) is expected to provide her voice, Anya isn't expected to appear as it's before her time... so could Caulfield be the new voice of Buffy Summers?
Due to other people voicing the characters, fans can expect much more of Oz and Faith."
Just bear in mind however, the site hasn't been updated since 7/10/03, so it may very well be that they'll be going the computer animation route, as mentioned at the beginning of this thread by Primal Slayer...and that this info will have changed YET AGAIN. But one thing that remains a constant....Joss keeps having to put this project on the shelf. ::grrr::
Wow Old Master, that's a lot of info! Thanks! Yeah, I agree that the pigtails may be a bad sign...I really hope they go through with this. I'm have horrible withdrawls. I need some kind of Buffy fix! So some of the actors are actually supplying thier voices? THAT is awsome! I'm going to go check that site out! Thanks again!

Well, thats pretty cool i guess...kinda disappointed that it will be targeted towards younger audiences though. Won't have the charisma (no pun intended) that the live show had. But it might still be fun, especially if the actors will actually be doing their own voices.

Thats the newest spider-man series so im presuming that if that is said series then the look will be different to the picture posted earlier.
that spiderman show would be better if they cut all that shiz with peter and mary jane....make parker single....

That girl who does Buffy's voice on the video game is good, im sure they can find people who are similar
