The New Angel Investigations pt2 (post number 49 page 4)
"Look ahead, there is a light," said Anne. The General of
the Armed Forces of Byzantium, Faith made her way to
the front. She whispered to Hope.
"Yoo-Hoo, Mr Pitty," shouted Hope. Pitts and Blue, stood
in the tunnel they watched in awe as the girls drew closer.

Anne watched as the others went for some well earned rest
Pitts looked to Anne, "Why aren't you going with them?"
Attempting to say how she felt Anne took her time to reply,
she was so deep in thought she didn't see the General of
Byzantium standing beside her. "What is it with you two?"
asked Blue, "I've seen the way you look to her Faith." Anne
looked up, "Shall I tell her or will you?" "No, this is for you
to do, I'll let you, I will be ready to welcome you back."
When she was sat on the unicorn she told Anne she would
send a few others.

Pitts watched as she left the tunnel. Facing Blue and Anne
"Come on you two, he will want to go for his rest." Anne
walked in silence with Blue and Pitts as they headed towards
the light at the end of the tunnel.

Settling into the chair Pitts had provided for her, Blue was
content, Pitts walked forward a few paces; standing and
basking in the light. Turning to face them he rhetorically
stated, "Considering where we are, of what that light is,
it can be seen as odd that a vampire can stand in its light."
Pitts stepped back into the tunnel with another, "Sorry, I am
not sure if you two have been formally introduced, this is the
me from what was another dimension, his name is William
although most folk knew him as Spike." Anne smiled. "I
know, we have met. Several times over the years, strange
though, I only know about my past when I am here."

Spike glanced at Pitts, he looked at the Raven haired beauty
"No, believe me, I would remember having met you before."
She looked to Blue, "Sorry but you are only an aspect of your
former self." "That is ok," replied Blue, "it is no secret that
I am a ghost, it's probably one of the things that drew Pitts
and I together, we knew that we could always be, and now
well, we always will be." Pitts smiled to her, "Same with
Spike, he will always be."

"That isn't strictly true, it is for Blue, she died a natural death
caused by a human but neither you or Spike did, you were
both killed by a demon. By being here you can remain for-
ever but on earth you can be killed, just like any vampire."
She sighed. "Even then as you come here you will be reborn,
but not me. A part of me lives on, it will always be."

Anne went to Spike and kissed him, he wanted to return her
commitment to him, he really did but, there was something.
"Why am I feeling like this? do I know you?" curiously Spike
looked to her. He leant his head to the side, trying to see in-
side her mind, "I know this, this feeling I have now, I was
recovering from a beating Glory gave me." He shrugged his
shoulders to Pitts. "An obsession of mine, what I thought
was my robot was the real thing." He faced Anne, he sensed
it, he knew it, but was it, "Why am I thinking of that?"

"This body, it is immortal but me the real me? a part of me
is eternal I have been in many through the years, and I will
be. Spike remember those tales of the Slayer, how the three
men said about the spirit of the demon being forced into a
girls body? well, they were wrong, it was me, I was the spirit.
The dreams I was having, Giles told me they were the lives
of the past slayers, he was wrong as well, yet he could not
know the truth. On the earth I did not know the truth, it is
here, of my being here that I know the truth. They were the
memories of other lives that I was once a part of."

"Then what happened in the initiative?" asked Spike. "That
time when Willow created magic to give me the ability of
the past slayers?, "she asked, "That was a trick of sorts.
Willow allowed those thousands of parts of me to return, I
am now as I was then, mind you Willow and I forgot one
thing though, allowing those parts of me to return." "I heard
about that," acknowledged Spike, "The first slayer visiting
you all in your dreams. She wanted her part of you? how did
you know what to give her?"

"We were on the earth, none of us did, the knowledge we had
manifested itself, so that the first slayer could see it and she
was able," she smiled, "That part of her that was me, she
could retrieve it." She looked at Spike, "How did you find
out, didn't think you were any-ones favourite person then."
"I wasn't," replied Spike, "I mean, can you imagine Giles or
Xander confiding in me? no, it was Willow. We were never
friends but we could talk to each other, I always did like her."
"She still does like you," stated Anne. "She does?" added
Spike. She went to stand facing the light, "Remember that
time Spike, when I told you how I thought I had been in
there Spike." Anne turned to face them, her Raven hair
became blonde. Stunned, his curiosity realised, "Buffy?"

"Then if you are you saying that Willow still does like me
are you saying that Willow is here? where? where is she?"
asked Spike. Buffy smiled to Blue, "You know, I always
thought it was a myth, that it was wrong, as unheard of but
I was wrong." "I know," replied Blue, "That rare disease that
humans have, Lois Lane-itus, they can't see what is in front
of them." Spike admitted it, "Okay, alright, you got me, and
you! you know me to well," He sighed, smiled then laughed
to himself, "I have that Lane-itus."

Two figures bathed in blue walked from the light, "Who are
they?" asked Spike. They neared Spike one of them showed
herself. "Spike," said Buffy, "Meet the most high of the
Goddesses, Goddess Turee - Willow. I seem to remember
you hitting her friend on the nose once, did you ever apologise
for that?" asked Buffy. "I sort of did, not properly, sorry
Willow." The Goddess Turee looked to Spike, "Shouldn't
you say that to her." "Tara is here as well? you know I
thought it was her, it was the name, I mean look at it, even
as a Goddess. It was just too close."

The Goddess Turee turned to see the figure beside her,
"Good thing you did hit me, you wouldn't be here if you
hadn't. You were being tested Spike." said Goddess T'ara
as she allowed herself to be seen. Blue got off her chair
"If he wasn't allowed here? would Pitts?" Pitts put his arms
around Blue. "We are both the same, if they want to know
what I am like, they could test Spike and vice versa." "I have
told you why I am here, how as a human William was the
destined one to be here, how the evil took him and that was
why I was created." "Do not feel to bad though Spike," said
Blue, "There is another here, I knew but two certain people
told me to keep quiet about him." she indicated the two
Goddesses.

"There is the obvious one, Cordelia is Chaser, that was a
given." Buffy thought about the others, "Oh I give up, who
is it." Another figure walked up the tunnel towards them.
"Why can't we see who it is?" asked Spike, "Surely there is
plenty of light here." "The light is there, the talk of it, how
you walk into the light? not that you walk into the tunnel of
light. Think of it like several torch lights around the end of
the tunnel pointing away from us. We can see the light
because it is there, but it isn't here."

The figure grew closer to them, they could see her, they
could also see her long flowing cape. "Sue!, you are some-
one?" "No Spike," said Blue. "She isn't but a special friend
of hers is." Sue took off her cape, from behind her came
Garet. "Some-one who has been a great friend to us over the
years," said Goddess Turee, "some-one we knew we could
rely on. Show them who you were please." Garet slowly
changed, "Clem!" "Certain people listened only to tales of
Garet and Pitts, none sought the knowledge of him, of when
he came from."

Goddess Turee smiled, "Now is the time for us to return."
The air around Buffy starto glow, from the body flowed
the glorious light, they could just see her smile, she turned
her white wings emblazed into their memories and she went
into the light. Anne stood smiling, remembering the time
they shared. Spike looked to the light, "Was she?"
"No spike," the voice flowed in the tunnel, "But she sits at
the right hand," Goddess T'ara beamed, "She was, as some
may call her, Buffy the Earths Angel."
