Hey all!

Amazon emailed me today, telling me about a new Buffy book being released for it's 15th birthday on the 26th October and wanted me to pre order it! I didn't even know they were doing this or that it was it's 15th birthday! 🙄
So what do you think? Are you gonna get it???? 😀

I am. I wish I could buy it digitally, but I emailed the company that said they weren't planning on doing a digital release. But the "props" we get with seem worth it.

I ordered it when it was very cheap. I think I will get it for under 20USD, including shipping.
 
Omg, I just went to the USA Amazon and looked for it and once again OMG, those 'props' you spoke about and the over all look of the book looks brill! but how come we don't get it like that in the UK!!!?? 🙁🙁

I hate when companies do that. There's a video game series I really enjoy called "Uncharted" and the third edition was released late last year. I've been making a habit of getting the special, collector's versions of the games as they come out. However, for this one, the American version was nowhere near as cool as the U.K. edition, but it would have cost a fortune to get it, it was in such high demand. Shame they're doing the same with the new Buffy book.

As for the book, I can't wait for it. Nancy Holder really gets the feel of Buffy and Angel, and I've really liked almost all the Buffy books she's written in the past. Beyond Joss Whedon, she's just about the perfect candidate to write this one. I'm really excited for it. It's awesome that they're finally making new Buffy products again.
 
With a huge board like this it's not easy keeping track on every thread. New Book: The Making of a Slayer This is actually the third thread being made. 😛

As for buying it, I think I will. At some point. I'll wait for some reviews to see if it's mostly old stuff put together or if it's something new. I won't buy it only for props although they do seem great.

Actually, shipping isn't that bad. Atleast not when I ordered it to Sweden. If it had been imported to amazon.co.uk it would cost more and shipping might just be slightly cheaper anyway.

So sometimes I even order books from amazon.com, even if co.uk has it.

I just looked at amazon, and they've added a lot more pics since I ordered. Wow. I had no idea it would be so cool. Definitly worth my 20 bucks.

wow 15 years... and yet the show still gets new fans everyday and people still go to conventions and i love that the actors (some of) still do cons for Btvs 🙂

Just read maybe 5 reviews on it (since it's been released in the UK already) and most of them claimed that the book doesn't provide much new information, just re-hashes the main events of the 7 seasons and talks a little about Behind The Scenes stuff :/ I'll most likely buy it anyway, but I'm looking to hear what people who own it have to say about it.

Hasn't been released in North America yet, but this is one of those things where even if it gets negative reviews, I'm still pumped to get it. I've already pre-ordered it through Amazon.

Even if there's nothing new or ground-breaking in it, I still think it'll be really neat to see a chronicle of all the seasons (I'm really hoping there's some Angel content in there as well, but I'm not so sure) in one nice book.
 
Why don't they just release the same edition in the USA and the uk. I hate when companies do this. I mean admittedly sometime the uk version is better, but either way it isn't fair on the country that loses out. So tempted to buy the American one though- I have a US account from when I lived in NYC so it'll be pretty easy because the delivery isn't extortionate. The props look so pretty; I love the artistry and attention to detail in these things.

I can't wait to get this. Even if it doesn't contain much new information, the pictures on the Amazon US site look awesome. I certainly won't be passing this one up. 🙂
 
Would have been nice to know before my pre order with amazon went though monday lol
I paid 30 though amazon so an extra 20 for Ambers autograph would have been worth it. 😀
