I saw this mentioned before...and I thought it was pretty interesting that the first took her form more than the others...Do you think there was some sort of significant meaning behind that?

I think that Spike came pretty close to mentioning that.
He said something to the sort "you love misery, you love pain".
 
Also death is her gift. Yeah, she died to save Dawn, but maybe it meant something else?

Still doubt it though. 😀
 
I guess it did take her form more times than not. I think the reason is not because Buffy is evil, but because the First was kind of obsessed with her. In general, it was obsessed with destroying the slayers... but I think it really was hung up on Buffy. The thought of Buffy I think made it want to defeat the slayers even more.

Do you get what I'm saying?
 
I believe that the First took her form more often to unnerve her more than anything. When faced with herself, Buffy could see her weaknessess, all the things that made her human, and not superhuman.
