Buffy themed birthday party ideas..

Ahh, what a random sounding thread name. I wasn't too sure if this should go here or not, but I thought what the heck, it's not technically about Buffy.

Okay, so dilema (Sort of) time. Next month is my birthday, and I'm having a sleepover. My four best friends are coming, and they all love Buffy. So naturally, we're having a Buffy themed sleepover. 😉 We're all dressing up, and I'm going as Faith.

Which is where my first problem comes in; how the heck do I dress up as her? My Mum said she'll draw the tatoo on my arm, but aside from that, I have no clue how to go about it. Suggestions, please?

Also, things we can do. Not everything we do will be Buffy related, but my friends want to do plenty of Buffy stuff, I just dunno what.
I mean, I have all seven seasons so we can watch some. And have a sing-a-long to OMWF.
I also have the board game, top trumps, PS2 game and the RPG books so we can give those a crack, too.
But I'm not sure what else. Any thoughts on that aspect?

And my last need for help is decorations. My Mum won't let me decorate the whole house Buffy-themed so I'm just gonna do my bedroom. But I really really don't know how. I have plenty of Buffy merchandise I can place around my room, and I thought of printing out some random pictures of the Buffy cast onto photo paper and putting them in frames (I'm not sure why, it was just an idea :lmao🙂, but I dunno how else to do. I have to pay for everything myself and I don't have a whole lot of money, so I can't really buy much. But any ideas for that?

Any help would be SO appreciated. 😉
 
About Faith: mostly leather clothing, slutty kind of clothing. Dark make up, stake or even more Faith-crossbow. That's what I think. Just think dark and sexy kind of look.

More ideas: Dancing to Buffy related music, if you have the cd's. Um... trivia contest, Buffy related drinking game (but you're too young, so maybe something with less alcohol...), Role playing... This is what I have so far.

Decorations... you can hang Buffy quotes and lines, or things that would relate to the characters, objects that might belong to them.

You can also think about party favors, Buffy related, after all, you're all Buffy fans.
 
Maybe you can pick up some idead from the series as Buffy-theme.
Decoration style or activities. Hurry up, rewatch few seasons 🙂
A good RPG game would consume quite a time - if you like such stuff, of course.
Try lemon punch Buffy served for School Hard, or some Buffy food. Yup, do something they do in the series. Nothing extreme though...

If you have the time make up some cards or cut up pieces of paper with quotes from different episodes on them and get your friends to guess which episode they came from (if they can) - you could even arrange some sort of prize - sweets, watch the episode of their choice - that sort of thing. You could also do the same thing with Buffy music and Angel stuff if you have any.

You could hide (or get your Mum to hide it, so that you can join in too) some of your Buffy stuff in various places around the house and search for those items - of course you'd have to remove all of the other stuff first just so that nobody gets confused about the items they're looking for.

As for the Buffy RPG I don't really think that's a good idea unless you all know the rules in advance as role playing games can be a pain in the behind if nobody except you knows the rules - trust me, I know from painful past experiences in that regard - but if everyone knows how the game is played -- then go for it.

Buffy Top Trumps (never heard of them before now) - sounds like a good idea, but you'd probably have to play several games as when I played Top Trumps the games were quite short.

As for dressing up as Faith, well as Urgent Power said, leather leggings (I don't know if they're called trousers on a girl sorry), low cut top, the tattoo and of course you'll have to change your hair style, pain your nails, carry a stake around with you at all times - even if it is in your back pocket, high heel boots, run every-where, try to talk in an American accent... lol.. I can see you having a great deal of fun with that!

But, no matter what happens, I hope you enjoy yourselves.
 
you could make little paper stakes and play hide and seek where you don't only have to find everyone, you have to chase them down and stake them too?

Yeah, I'm thinking the RPG might not really work now, unless I force everyone to look up the rules before my party. 😉

Two new questions (I'm annoying, sorry. 😉)
1. What kind of food is Buffy related? I can think of several things, most of which..meh.
2. Anyone know where I can get hold of a stake? As in the kind a slayer would use, we probably have some garden stake thingies, but they'll all be too thin and pointy. Ideas?
 
About the food, I'd definitley go for the lemonade Buffy made in school hard (maybe you should add sugar ^^) And maybe you can try to get something that looks like beer and then tell your friends that if they drink too much of it, they'll turn into cavewomen 😉
I don't know about the food. Maybe double meat burgers?

Ew, I don't think I'd be able to eat those. XD My Mum said she'd order pizza, any time in Buffy they have pizza? I'm drawing a blank. Oooh Dawn has pizza. Anchovie Pizza. Shame none of us like anchovies.

As for drinks, you might try cream soda. It's about the same color as beer, and foams up pretty well. And, of course, there's tomatoe juice.
You can think of food the characters like. You can try making onion blossom thingy, like Spike. I tried this once. pretty gross. or hot cocoa that spike likes, etc.

About the stake, my father made a few out of a broom. just sharpen the tip.
 
I guess I could try that, though onions are pretty rank. 😛 I'll think of something. 😉 Oooh I'll get some jaffa cakes, Giles would be proud.

Ah, good idea. I'll ask my Dad if he can make me some stakes out of wood.
 
So how about Pizza's with with thick watery red fluid on top.
They often had Pizza in the library when they did researching.

Banana smoothy, a bit thin with red food dye.
But the most important question is....... who's going to be Xander?
 
I know you didn't ask, but if you're going to eat a bithday cake, you can spread some red food coloring, as if it were blood. And the scoobies ate donuts all the time (especially Buffy).

I don't know. How sad. 🙁 I'm going as Faith, then my friends are gonna be Drusilla, Dawn...And I'm not sure about the other two, I think Buffy and Dark Willow, but I haven't asked them yet. It's rather sad. 😉 I wanted someone to be Spike, but no-one wanted to be a guy. 😛

Ahh, yeah, I never thought of birthday cake. There are places where you can get photos made into icing on cakes, I might ask if I can have a photo of the Scooby Gang on it. 😀

Oh ya! Never thought of donuts. And even better, I could say the jam was blood. 😉 Oooh the possibilities. 😛
 
Yeah, they do that to cakes. I wanted one with Spike's picture on it for my 18th birthday, but it was just too expensive... ::huh1::

Dark Willow is a great costume! Don't know how one would dress up like Dawn though. Drusilla is good also. I remember me and my 2 other friends dresssing up as the 3 Slayers - me Buffy, and the others Faith and Kendra. It was really cool!
 
I'd advice you not to make pointy sharp stakes. Just something that resembles the thing. You don't really want to stake somebody, do you 😉


What about tomato juice? That could resemble blood, or jummy tomato soup.

Uhm, I know that in Germany there is kind of a card game called "Black Stories", where a person reads out a dark morbid story and the others have to guess what happened. If there is something similar to it in the UK, that could be fun to play. Otherwise you've got plenty of good ideas and you'll quickly notice that you won't have enough time to get through all of it. 😉
 
Ahh well they do it in supermarkets near me, so I'm sure they can't be THAT expensive there. Probably about £10 or £15. Not sure. Oh well, I'll get round my Mum, somehow.

I dunno how she's gonna dress up as Dawn, either! She just really wanted to, 'cuz Dawn is her favourite character. Ha, awesome. I've dressed up as Dru before, for Halloween, but I'm really psyched to dress up as Faith. 🙂 She rules.

Yeah, I know. If I make one out of wood, I'll make sure it's as blunt as possible. 😉

Plus it'd be easier to persuade your dad to get done up as Xander than Principle Wood.

I'll just give my Dad an eye patch and tell him he's called Xander. He won't complain. 😛
