Buffy Toon Due Soon?

Joss Whedon, creator of UPN's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, told syndicated columnist Marilyn Beck that his moribund Buffy animated series could hit the airwaves as early as January 2003. Earlier, Whedon had said the show"”which revisits the Scooby Gang during their Sunnydale High School years"”was on hold for a variety of reasons and wouldn't debut until at least May.

But Beck reported that Fox will premiere the show in January, with Buffy cast members Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Boreanaz, Seth Green, Nicholas Brendon and Michelle Trachtenberg voicing characters.

Looks like they changed plans. I remember posting a little while back that they cancelled the Animated Series (yeah, here it is: http://www.buffybytes.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2839&highlight=animated+series). So, I guess we can just forget about that then? This baffles me; why did they change their minds? Actually, the more important question: Is it even true?

I hope it is! It does get kind of confusing though. At one time I heard that David Boreanaz wasn't going to do his voice and that they would have James Marsters on it some where. I hope finally some one has gotten everything worked out! 😛

Awesome, I thought they weren't going to release it anymore. There's this site www.imdb.com that has almost every movie, tv show, actor, etc. and SMG's page had the cartoon series listed, and now it isn't there anymore. I wonder why they took it off.

I think I'll watch it anyway, I just wonder what drawing-style they're going to use, I'm kinda an anime fan, so I hope it'll be manga, and if you do so, you can turn it as dark as the real show, without losing credability!
