Buffy tribute book....

O.k so i saw on a friends website that they were doing a tribute book for friends:


What the Friends Site is doing:

Inspired by 1000Journals, the Friends Memory Collection will be a book filled with memories, goodbyes, thoughts and feelings spilled directly from the fans. Here's how it works:
-I will assemble a group of passionate, creative, loyal Friends fans to participate in this project. To do this, I will post an application (check above!) on this site and choose the fans whom I feel will do the best job with this book.
-I will get a blank journal or sketchbook of some sort and decorate the covers and the first few pages however I see fit.
-I will mail (snail-mail, 'land' mail, 'real' mail - not e-mail) the book to one of the people in the group.
-He/she will pour his/her Friend-ly passion onto a page or two with words, photos, drawings, found objects - anything that can fit in the book. Then he/she will mail the book to the next person in the group.
-When each person in the group has made a contribution, the last person will mail the book back to me. At this point, I'm not sure what I'll do with the finished creation. If it turns out to be really outstanding, maybe I'll try mailing it to Friends (though I'm aware that this could be really tough to do).

This project is still in its early stages, but please consider applying to participate, especially if you're really passionate about the show and/or have a creative streak (also keep in mind that you'll have to snail-mail the book, which means giving your address to me and one other person). This book could turn out to be really awesome or really pathetic, and it all depends on you.

I was thinking we could do something along the same lines, we could do an all buffy book, have a few pages devoted to one character, fave episodes etc, or we could do a R.I.P Anya book, a tribute to anya, or maybe a tribute to Cordelia Chase etc you get the gist.
Hopefully it will end up with the person who the book is for.
if anyone is interested i think this could be cool.
 
I think a Buffy memory book, would be great to make, I'm game!

I think we should have a like a general page of history of a certain character with a few of their most famous quotes, followed by thoughts by the fans. Like everyone can contribute a few lines of thought on the character.
 
Perhaps there are some other people who have ideas how to structurize this?
 
well it depends... maybe for variation like a page or pages on each character, a bit on ships then everyone gets a page or two to write down other memories and stuff?

I think we should include the archs as well, or should we include all the episodes?
 
ooohhhh maybe like... seasons? but we may not have enough space. Because I'm thinking popular eps will get loads of comments and not so popular will get none

also what will we do with the book when it's finished?
 
I think you should just put about what you like, im sure everything will end up in there anyway. This would be easier with making a website. Anyway if its a book we could drum up publicity for it and then send it to Joss and maybe it will be featured in some mentioned in SFX etc.

I'm in. But I'm from the UK, and I know people here are from elsewhere in the world so shipping may be costly.
 
I'm in the UK too but it shouldn't be too bad if you work out a specific order like OK this state is closest to this one so X person will be next etc
 
I was thinking that everyone could do a page each (decorate it etc)
So everyone just gets sent a page, so when they are done they just send that back which wouldn't cost alot, and then the one person who recieves them all puts all the pages together.
I got this idea off the Friends one which does explain it better:

'Instead of mailing the entire book to one person, having them fill their page and send it to the next person, etc., I will mail each participant an individual page from the book, which they will fill and send back to me. Then I will put all of the pages back together. Not only will this method greatly reduce the cost of the postage, it will also increase your privacy, because you will only have to share your address with me (instead of me and one other person).'

We kinda need to get a list of everyone who wants to do this etc, not just think about doing it.

Also what to put in ti, we could do seasons, fave episodes, tributes to characters who have died or left, i.e Anya, Cordy , Angel and Wesley.

Oookay i think ive rambled on too much, but i think this would be so cool!
 
that's actually a fabulous idea 🙂 If we just have a structure like favourite character? and then you write a little, fave ep, ship, season and then anything else?
 
I've been a part of a site where it's just people chatting..we are ALL very close...and we have done both of these things!

We each made a scrapbook page when one of the girls was having a baby, and we've also done a 'memories' book that was shipped around the world.

I think a Buffy one is a FANTASTIC idea!!!!

About the fourth (and final) time, I'm gonna repeat my ideas. I think we should have pages for all the major characters, a little bio on the character, on the actor/actress, few quotes (4-5) , one review by that characters biggest fan, a few lines (3-4) of thought by a couple (7) of members.

And perhaps something alike for storylines (big bads etc), ships, and some special episodes (Gift, OMWF, Chosen).
 
Also, for each of the character pages, perhaps we should have a list of the episodes that were centered around them-like for Willow list Dopplegangland and Villains, and Same Time, Same Place. Does anyone understand what I'm saying, cuz I'm not sure that was English.
 
Yes Jacklyn..I think that everything I wanted was already mentioned in Allycat's post...
And I want a big pic of every single person that matters!!
