Depressing that...however I still have hope for a Buffy/Angel movie eventually. I just hope studio execs don't wait too long and then it be a failure and disallows the opportunity for more. If they jumped on it RIGHT NOW they could prolly schedule one b/t SMG and David's movie schedules. They could have it on air in May and it could be an Annual event for a few years to come. They're Idiots if they this prime opportunity die.

When she says she would only do it if it was good, where was she for the last 7 years. Of course this movie will be good Joss Whedon is a genius, he always comes up trumps

I hope they get all the original cast maybe it could pick up months or weeks after Never Fade Away about the Shanshu Prophecy and Buffyis a key part of it.

I read in TV Guide that the eventual end to both series would find Buffy and Angel together as he is her true love. So when Angel was announced to be canceled I was like 'well atleast we'll get to see them both happy and together' but alas.....nope. In my opinion it would be great if they picked up right at the last scene in NFA.

Angel
I don't know about you but I want to slay the dragon

Voice of Buffy
Need some help?

Just then the camera turns to the ground and sweeps up to reveal buffy and the scooby gang ready to fight. Cut back to the Angel gang. The camera focuses on Spike....Spike looks around confused.

Spike

Anya?

Anya

What you think you're the only being brought back from the dead? It's bordering on trendy at this point.

I REALLY have spent too much time thinking about this..yup!

Ooooooooooh!

*Begs Kendra to write me NFA Anya orientated fanfic!!!*

And oi you, ChosenOne -> watch it! 😛

I think a Buffy/Angel movie would be a better idea anyway...

I wasn't being mean about the Anya bit, I liked Anya she was better than Cordy really funny, but I just think that there would be no place for her in this movie.

Ooooh! You should know that when it comes to Anya and I sound angry...Im only joking 😛 Well...most of the time...

I agree...I think maybe Anya would fit more into a Buffy movie rather than Buffy and Angel movie...

Joss on possibility of BtVS/AtS Television Movies

SciFi Wire has this article today at http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-main.html?2004-08/12/13.00.tv

Buffy Movies Still Possible

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel creator Joss Whedon told SCI FI Wire that he's ready to return to the Buffyverse with television films once he receives a green light from The WB, home of Angel, or another network. "We haven't really heard anything," Whedon said in an interview. "Obviously, there's been a regime change at The WB. The fans are interested. I'm interested. I don't think either [Buffy star] Sarah [Michelle Gellar] or [Angel star] David [Boreanaz] would want to do it. But I think there's about 10 other characters I could name who would be totally worthy of movies. And I'm just waiting for somebody to say yea or nay."

As for a proposed Buffy animated series, Whedon said, "A presentation is being made. It hasn't been bought anywhere, but it's still in the creating stages, so it's still a possibility."

Beyond Buffy, Whedon said he'd readily return to series television. "I had some ideas," he said. "I'm sort of trying to look at the marketplace and say, 'What kind of idea will actually go?' Because I'm not really interested in making things that don't. "¦ So I'm not sure if what I have is what the world wants right now."

But, Whedon added, "I am totally prepared to go back to TV. Not 24-seven, as I did with the first years of Buffy. But now I've learned about surrounding yourself with the right people and delegating so that I can actually run a show without ruining my life. And TV is, you know, "¦ a medium that I love in a very different way than I love movies. The things that I can't do in [a] movie are things that I mourn: the smaller moments. The "¦ protracted interactions. The things that make TV really fascinating. Watching characters change over the years. You know, I've waited my whole life to make movies, but movies don't do that. "¦ You either write novels that are are way too long, or you make TV if you want to do that. And "¦ I can't write novels that are long."

Well...Joss is saying he wants to do it, The WB is saying that they want to do it...some of the actors have said that they want to do it...I don't think it is too far off before we hear of some kind of deal worked out. The only stickler is the fact that Sarah, and David are trying to distance themselves from their buffy-verse characters for the time being, and trying to jump start their feature film careers.

I know what you mean, but maybe the time away from the buffy-verse characters' roles will have helped them appreciate what they had and still have. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I understand that, after that many years, they wanted/needed a break from the roles, but they will soon realize/remember the joy of what such well-written, quality roles can bring. 🙂 Just my opinion, of course. 😉

Thanks for the article. It's a little disappointing. 🙁

I don't see the disapointing side of things. We don't need no stinking Buffy, or Angel(although if they do wish to do it YAAAY!). There are so many characters in those two shows that could carry a tv movie. That's what's so great about the Buffy-verse. Every character is so well written. I want to see more of almost all the characters

I'm not too bothered about the movie actually. If there was one I have a feeling it would be dissapointing. There's already been a movie, so I think the way forward for buffy is the animated series.

Basically I'm on board with whatever Joss seems to think is right for the characters--he hasn't been wrong yet. I think that any BtVS movies should be done separatly from any AtS movies, though. Both groups have grown so much since they parted, taking on new characters, new missions. I think it would be a mistake to try to integrate them again suddenly. That's not saying I'm against a more final solution to the Buffy/Angel/Spike triangle, I just think that maybe it could be done like the Buffy/Angel thing in "Chosen"--just a few characters crossing paths briefly, but themn going their own ways. Buffy, after all, is still cookie dough, so no resolution promises to be the last word on the issue.
