Buffy : Unpopular Opinions

Willow's spell in "Something Blue" was more persistent than we were lad to believe.

1.Giles didn't polish his glasses as much afterward as he didn't see the dirt, so his vision didn't recover fully.

2.Buffy and Spike made the real connection during that spell and it never really wore off.

3. Xander remained a demon magnet from that time on, including "First Date" including the fact that Xander claimed to be the source of Sweet's visit to this world. Even though Dawn was caught red-handed with Sweet's talisman, Xander had handled it before.

I thought Xander was always demon magnet ?
Forgive me if I mentioned this in an earlier post, it was a while back, but I freaking love Beer Bad. I seriously don't get why so many fans dislike/hate it; it's hilarious, it's Buffy's best hair in the whole show (followed by her hair in Gone 🙂) it's the final end to that horrid Parker-thing, Willow is a freaking badass in that bar/coffee shop, Xander is at his most funny throughout, it's just a great episode.

I wouldn't call the episode great but it certainly doesn't deserve the hate it gets. It's honestly one of my favorite season 4 episodes to watch. It would probably rank in the middle if I did a ranking of all the BtVS episodes.

It's wrong but I was kinda rooting for Marci to mangle Cordelia's face. Not only is Cordy one of my least liked characters but Marci talked a big game and I wanted to see the after product. "I'm going to give you a face that nobody will ever forget. People who pass you on the street will remember your face for the rest of their lives. Children are gonna dream about you. And every one of your friends who comes to the coronation tonight will take the sight of the May Queen to their graves."

I agree. Works better with Spike being a special vampire that actually still held onto his humanity. Just like Buffy was one girl in all the world, Spike was one vampire in all the world that still maintained their humanity after becoming a soulless monster. It makes Buffy falling in love with Spike even more poetic.
I like that idea too . And that would explane why Spike is the only Vampire we see that seem to like doing things.

I've never been angry at Xander for leaving Anya at the altar, I've always felt really sorry for him and been on his side🙁

me too! I use to hate him for it but after this years re-watch I realized he didn't want to get married but still wanted to be with her. He didn't broke up with her he just didn't marry her. And really you don't need to get married to be happy in life!

That where you & I differ . IF that that case he should have told her first instead of leaving her at the altar like he did.
If he liked her like he did he should had least not did that to her .

Exactly, Xander leaving Anya was better than staying with her and marrying her at that point so Xander did the right thing🙂

Yes and Anya should have understand that Xander still loved her even though he didn't want to marry her. The pressure was too big him, gosh he was only 21!

People gotten married earler then 21 & he hadc a job & everything don't forgot.

Yeah, Xander left Anya because he loved her too much to risk her getting hurt, maybe some would say that's not a good enough reason but it fits perfectly with Xander.

In a way, it's not so different than Angel leaving Buffy for her own good. But again, a lot of people hate him for that too...

Well I see where both Angel and Xander were coming from :)
1. S1 of Buffy is the weakest season.
2. S7 is much better than people give it credit for and The First as a BB are more effective than given credit for.
3. Amy should have been a member of the Scoobies in the first couple of seasons anyway.
4. Dawn's debut is one of the best of any on the show.
5. Oz is a little one note and empty as a character.
6. Joyce being a bad mother makes her a far more interesting character.
7. Kendra works as a guilty pleasure.

Number 4 and 6!!!!!! Dawns debut was honestly so different from anything I’ve seen ever.. it was confusing at first but that’s what I loved the whole episode my brain was going nuts.
And yeah it wouldn’t have made sense for Joyce to have been a perfect mother... buffy would have nothing to grow from

I never found Willow cute in the early seasons. She annoyed me.
Unrelatedly, I think Tillow was the real abusive relationship of season 6, and Tara shouldn't have forgiven her so quickly, if at all.
I think most vampires can love in their own way, and it's Angelus who is a special case.
I think the Master is one of the best villains of the show.

Fool for Buffy
Fool for Buffy
The Master is 2-1 against Buffy. Can't argue with the numbers :)
Wrecked is significantly harder to watch than Dead Things or Seeing Red. Drugs and child abuse are pretty awful to sit through, and it's the episode I've seen the least times.
