I dunno if this is the right place to post this, I hope it is. I was just wondering what everyone here thought of all the Buffy video games that have been made? The only one I've played was Chaos Bleeds, and from a gaming standpoint it was OK, but nothing special.

I personally would have liked to see something more open ended, where you're free to move around Sunnydale and go patrol and slay random vamps and demons and stuff. I know the odds of something like that being made are probably pretty much 0, but what Buffy fan wouldn't drool over the idea of actually feeling like they were running around in Sunnydale? The only thing I can think of that would be cooler would be some kind of Buffyverse-based MMORPG. I know that franchise based MMOs can turn out bad, and every Vampire based MMO has turned out terrible, but I think there could be a lot of potential if something like this was done. Plus it would be a nice break from the norm of online role playing. Does anyone else out there agree with me?

I take it we don't have many gamers on the boards? No one here would be interested in playing a Buffy MMORPG if such a beast existed? Or at least be interested in seeing some better buffy video games of any kind released?

Heres a previous discussion you might be interested in^^

I think you'll find there are quite a few gamers here on the boards. I am one of them.

I too have played chaos bleeds. like you said nothing special from a gamer perspective, but as a buffy fan it was pretty neat. I've played the gba game and the original gameboy game. they were ok too.

I'd definately be interested in another buffy game. I dont play online games, but one would be awesome. Although I think theresless and less chance as time goes by. unless the season 8 buffy comic is uber successful and sparks up a surge of interest, or if ever a movie or spin off (doubtful) is made, I homnestly doubt we'll see another game.

Yes, though that seems to be mostly about the games they already made. This is about the games that NEED to be made. This is about all the people that love Buffy and love video games uniting together for the common goal of getting them to make a really kick ass Buffy game. Personally, I'm still shooting for the MMO. I know it most likely won't happen, but I can dream can't I?

I just keeping thinking of how awesome it could be. Since Sunnydale got all destroyed, they'd have to do it like in between one of the seasons before that or something, like between 3 and 4 maybe or something. Kinda like in Star Wars Galaxies how they made it between A New Hope and Empire. Seriously, how much fun would it be to run around in a pixelated Sunnydale with other Buffy fans fighting demons and vampires and stuff? Sure, you couldn't be as powerful as Buffy, but you could still load up with crosses and crossbows and axes, or learn spells and go have fun with your friends. And what if there was the option to become or play as a vampire. Of course, during the day you'd be confined to like sewers and caves and stuff, but at night the city would be yours. That would make such an awesome dynamic of gameplay for an MMO. Sorry, I'm getting carried away. I just get so excited. I wish I could just make this game happen myself. It would "PWN".

I would love to play the first game, but I don't have an X Box, and that's the only console they made it for. 🙁

Actually they have Chaos Bleeds available for PS2 if you have one!!! But the first one is an Xbox-exclusive title.

I actually would LOVE any kind of RPG for the Buffy series. I am a HUGE fan of the Balder's Gate series, D&D Heroes (this game rocks), X-men Legends series, Gauntlet (although that's more arcade hack and slash than RPG) but you get the idea. Pretty much any RPG my hubby and I can play co-op. We are also fans of Oblivion, Fable, KOTOR, and Final Fantasy XI.

Just imagine - you can choose between a few characters, Buffy, Faith, Angel, Xander, Willow, Giles etc and level them up and aquire character specific and/or special items..and free-roam around Sunnydale of course.

They were looking at doing this with another of my fave series Oddworld (the game was to be called The Hand Of Odd) but that unfortunatly went by the wayside for now.
