This is the 4th weekly poll, and this time it's Buffy against Batman.

The results of last week's poll are:

Buffy- 11
Spiderman- 7

So, who do you think is cooler, Buffy or Batman?

Which franchise do you prefer, Buffy(the series, movie, comics, books) or Batman(tv show, cartoons, comics, movies)

Who do you think is more powerful?

Who would win in a fight?

Bruce Wayne/Batman is way cooler, even though Buffy would probably beat him in a hand to hand combat he is still cooler 😀

This is probably pointless...

The argument is likely pointless, as most BtVS fans would insist that Buffy can beat anyone you could bring up based on loyalty alone. This makes the BBoard polls about as objective as "Iron Chef" 😉

Seriously, I'll try anyway.

And folks? This does not mean that I'm not a BtVS fan!

So, who do you think is cooler, Buffy or Batman?
the lifestyle, the costume, the car, the plane, the boat, the sub, the cave, the ability to strike fear, the allies, the rogue's gallery, the billions of $$ in resources...
'nuff said?

Which franchise do you prefer, Buffy(the series, movie, comics, books) or Batman(tv show, cartoons, comics, movies)

Breakdown...
1. TV Series - Buffy (that silly 60's show was an embarrassment to the Batman character)
2. Movies - Batman (though I am only counting the 1989 Batman movie). I never really got the Buffy movie.
3. Cartoons - Batman; both the WB Batman and Batman Beyond series are animation masterpieces.
4. Comics/Books - Batman's been around since 1939, and is recognized int the trades as one of the top 3 most prolific characters in popular fiction (along with Dracula and Sherlock Holmes). Even Superman doesn't top that.

Who do you think is more powerful?
Batman - Stength, years of training and a wide array of fighting styles, and a master detective's skill to analyze/defeat any opponent. Batman's skills go way beyond Slayer-strength and a few rounds on the heavy bag. He has even proven himself (in a number of comics plots and graphic novels) to be well-equipped for vampire/demon slaying in his own right.

Who would win in a fight?
Batman - He may take a few hits, but he would figure Buffy's methods out and have her out cold or immobilized in minutes.

POINT TOTAL
BUFFY = 1 POINT
BATMAN = 6 POINTS

I've gotta go with girl power (I know it sounds Spice Girls, but it's the only way I could pick)

Buffy ... hello, little Bruce only has an armored suit, even Adam had more, and we all know what happened to him!

There is no-one cooler than Buffy, Batmans a loser, he doesnt even have any powers!

Batman is cooler (though not as witty) - Buffy's probably stronger but Batman would use tactics to get round that ...

Y'all are serious?

take look at this guy!

PROFILE: BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE

Real name: Bruce Wayne
Occupation: Industrialist, Philanthropist
Base of Operations: Gotham City
Marital Status: Single
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 210
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black
First Appearance: DETECTIVE COMICS #27 (May, 1939)

ORIGIN...
One night, while returning after seeing the feature The Mask of Zorro with his father Thomas Wayne and his mother Martha, Bruce Wayne experienced the tragedy on Crime Alley that would change his life forever. An anonymous criminal shot and killed the young boy's parents. Bruce was determined to seek justice for all and make sure nothing like this ever happened again. During his youth he traveled the world and learned many different fight skills from many different teachers, ranging from David Cain to Zatara . After training, Bruce decided it was time to fulfill the promise he made to his parents. Not only was he after justice, but he also sought vengeance. Believing that criminals were a superstitious, cowardly lot. He needed a persona that would strike fear into their evil hearts. Luckily, he saw a bat one day. Thus, Batman was born.

ALLIES...
Throughout his career, Batman has established quite a list of allies. He has been a friend to James Gordon since he began his "knight life-" pun intended. He also worked with then District Attorney Harvey Dent. He has had many protégés as well. The first was fellow orphan Dick Grayson, a former circus performer. Bruce trained Dick and let him take up the mantle of Robin. Their relationship has been more of a student/teacher one rather than a father/son. After a time of tension, Dick left Bruce's side and eventually became Nightwing. Barbara Gordon/Batgirl also fought under Batman's wing(yea, more puns!). Batman now uses the wheelchair-bound Barbara Gordon as an informant, under the identity of Oracle. He took in another Robin after Dick left: the ill-fated Jason Todd. On a search for his biological mother, Jason was killed, brutally, by the Joker, along with his new-found mother. It was a long and tense time before the Dark Knight took on a new partner. Tim Drake became the new Robin after realizing that Batman needed someone to lighten him up and failing to get Dick to rejoin with him. Helena Bertinelli/Huntress is another vigilante, but she constantly fails to meet the standards set by Batman. During No Man's Land, she donned the persona of the new Batgirl. Batman eventually stripped her of her title and handed it to Cassandra Cain, mute daughter of David Cain. Cassandra was raised learning about combat and is an amazingly skilled fighter. Commissioner Gordon has since retired, but Batman still has sufficient help with the aide of his masked allies, even the ones he doesn't want.

ENEMIES...
Batman has an established set of rogues, as well. There are the Joker(homicidal psychopath), Catwoman(cat burglar/sometime ally and love interest), Two-face(former D.A. Harvey Dent), Ra's Al Ghul and his daughter Talia(genocidal madman and his loyal daughter), Poison Ivy(vixen, deadly to the touch), Riddler(man of many questions), Mr. Freeze(his name says it all), Harley Quinn(Joker obsessed, ex-psychiatrist), Dr. Hugo Strange(mad scientist), Man-bat(DNA experiment gone wrong), the Penguin(oddly proportioned businessman), and Bane(big guy, very big)-just to name a few.

LOVE INTERESTS...
Bruce Wayne/Batman has also had a history of love interests: Catwoman/Selina Kyle, Talia al Ghul, Vicki Vale, Julie Madison, Silver St. Cloud, Dr. Shondra Kinsolving, Vesper Fairchild, and more. Bruce also had an interesting relationship with Sasha Bordeaux, a bodyguard assigned to him. At times, she would don a costume as well and go along with him as an unnamed vigilante when night fell.

MORE PROFILE FACTS...
- Wears a Fire-Proof Suit
- Has A Radio Comnlink to the Batcave
- Wears Triple Weave Kevlar
- Has Night-vision-Goggles in his Cowl
- Cowl and cape contructed of Bullet-proof kevlar
- Bat-ears serve as antennae
- Tools/Weapons include grappling hook gun, throwing blades, sedative blow-gun darts, gas and smoke pellets, underwater re-breather, lock-picks, first-aid supplies sonic singnaller to attract clouds of bats, weighted tips in the cape.
- mater-level skill set in all known forms of hand-to-hand combat, as well as fencing, knife-fighting, and archery.
- able to move silently (even below the range of Superman's hearing).

Oh boy...must...keep...total geekdom at bay... must get... a life!

I think I have to go for a tie. Believe me, I love Buffy beyond belief, but I'm trying to be realistic.

Although Buffy is one of my favorite characters of all time I think Batman is "cooler" although I prefer Buffy, so Batman wins that one.

I like the Buffy franchise much more than the Batman one.

I think Buffy is more powerful.

I think Batman would win in a fight, unless Buffy used the help of the Scoobies and her rocket launcher.

So, for me its a tie! 😀

Buffy has fought 8 apocalypses, had to kill her soulmate, lost her mom while Batman stops robbers and clowns. I doubt Batman wins.

To Weredog's comments...

To your comments - "Buffy has fought 8 apocalypses, had to kill her soulmate, lost her mom while Batman stops robbers and clowns. I doubt Batman wins."

8 Apocalyspes? Buffy's only been on for 7 seasons, and even then I don't think each season has had a its own world-ending apocalypse in the offing. Batman has saved the world countless times in his career (beginning in 1939!), including the recent stopping of worldwide plagues ("Poison Tomorrow") an eco-terrorist Ice Age ("Son of the Demon") and a vampire epidemic ('Red Rain"), and the reformation of a post-nuclear world of anarchy (The Dark Knight 2)

The Batman doesn't kill... that's the point. He has had to use every ounce of self-restraint at times (esp. in dealing with The Joker). He has also consistently stood for his priciples over revenge OR love, an example being pursuit/arrest of his own soulmate Selina Kyle (Catwoman).

Batman's Rogues Gallery includes an immortal genius (Ra's Al-Ghul), Demons (including the Tulpa and Etrigan), werewolves, vampires (including Dracula), zombies (Solomon Grundy), human/crocodile hybrids (Killer Croc), Plant elementals (Poison Ivy), plus assorted mad scientists (Scarecrow, Hugo Strange) and meglomaniacs (Vandal Savage). He's one of the few beings ever to deliver a serious but-kicking to Superman (see "The Dark Knight Returns).

That's worth some cred in my book.

The Joker is just a "clown"?! Whoa... I sure wouldn't want to come to YOUR birthday party! 😉

In closing...
I didn't originate this poll (and yes, I AM a Buffy fan) but I gotta ask you all to think clearly here for a sec. Given the criteria listed for comparison, I just don't see Buffy coming out a winner in this. I knew going in that the poll would be lopsided, but you gotta admit the a string of "I like Buffy, so she wins" statement shown here doesn't exactly make for a compelling argument.

That's all... bored now 😉
