Buffy VS. Kendra

Who was better?Who do you think?The Majority wins!I like Kendra, because she is cool, nd all.I also like Buffy.But I have to say, that in the first two eps wit kendra, I disliked Buffy.She was soo rude, and annoying.So for this season, I'd have to go with Kendra.
 
Oh please, Buffy hands down.

Although Kendra may be more by the book and had trained more, it was obvious that Buffy was stronger and more aware of her surrondings. Kendra had no imagination, but Buffy just thinks of amazing ways to save the day all the time.

I mean I like Kendra and all, but it really is all about the Buff. Shes just amazing in combat, Kendra may have the moves, but she can't execute them as well. Plus, we saw Kendra fight brilliantly in Whats my Line parts 1&2, but we've saw Buffy do some seriously amazing fighting that totally outshined Kendra.

Plus shes wittier! 🙂
 
Guess the question was about who you prefer as a character,not who's stronger😛...I hate Buffy,so I have to choose Kendra...she was kinda cool anyways🙂
 
Most definitely Buffy. I like Buffy alot better than Kendra. I like Buffy's personality and character alot more than Kendra's. Although Kendra was pretty cool..
 
Oh, Kendra! I miss me Kendra.

Well, what little fighting we did see of the two of them, Kendra was pretty much kicking her ass. I think Kendra could whoop Buffy, if it came down to it. She's pretty focused.

As fighting goes, I think Buffy would win. Kendra would definately give her a run for her money, but in the end B would win. Her fighting style is way more creative and resourceful. Character-wise I'd still stick with Buffy. Not that Kendra wasn't cool, she just didn't have the fire Buffy had. :bbounce:
 
Kendra was very good and had an interesting fighting style but I think if you paired them at their best Buffy would win hands down definetly.
When you look at how well Buffy expanded as a fighter. She was really quite amazing at the end. She became so much more than the girl who missed the heart on her first patrol.

I really wish Kendra wasn't completely killed off though she could have been great but hey we got Faith in return soooooo I guess thats okay too. : vampy :
 
Buffy all the way...Kendra was even stuffier than Buffy in the early seasons...I wonder what Faith would have thought of her!
 
Kendra's technique was flawless...but Buffy would beat her hands down...and as much as Buffy can annoy me sometimes...I still have to go with her. In the end I don't think Kendra wouldn't even have a chance....
 
I like Buffy more. At first I couldn't stand Kendra, but I started liking her more and more, then she was killed off...If she had lived longer, maybe I'd like her more, but then we'd never have Faith...
 
I like buffy the best. I like how she is more of a fighter. I thought it was strange how in becoming p1 kendra hardly gave a fight with dru..Buffy ususally gives puns and is more powerful in a fight..Plus kendra's voice annoys me.
 
Even though Kendra was more disiplined, Buffy had more imagination. There fight at the end of What's My Line Part 1 proved that because when Kendra had Buffy at a disadvantage Buffy did 'the chick thing' by scratching her to get out of that hold. Kendra didn't have that imagination, she probably would have struggled getting out of that hold because it wouldn't occur to her to do something like that.
 
No doubt it has to be Buffy

Kendra was all by the book. To much like Giles. Imagine that.

Giles said that when he met her he didn't feel she needed the Slayer Handbook. Buffy throws the rule book out the window every once in a while and shows her creative imagination. Wait...did that make sense?? Anywho... Buffy is soooooo much better she beat Kendra no doubt in my mind

PS: how can ya'll hate Buffy? She's whiny at times yes but still...cool
 
Buffy. Not only did she have more street smarts when fighting, but she had a huge support group as well. And as Jules pointed out...her imagination when fighting made her great...not just sticking to the technical aspects of fighting, but being able to improvise and think on the fly, while still being able to keep a level head through it all.. All of these characteristics makes Buffy the best Slayer by far.

To begin, neither Buffy or Kendra was the one Slayer with the best fighting movies. That honor belonged to Xin Rong, the Slayer that was killed by Spike in "Fool For Love". She moved like a real kung fu martial artist.

Also, I don't think that Buffy would have kicked Kendra's ass. In fact, I would say that Kendra could give Buffy a run for her money. And I stand by that statement, considering that Kendra did such a good job in kicking Angel's ass.

Kendra didn't die because she lacked Buffy's support group. She HAD Buffy's support group. Unfortunately, the Scoobies did squat to watch her back. Kendra died, because Drusilla managed to get her under a thrall - just as the Master used thrall to kill Buffy in "Prophecy Girl"; and Dracula used thrall to get a bite out of Buffy in "Buffy vs. Dracula".

I get tired of people claiming that Buffy was the superior Slayer over Kendra.

I don't necessarily think that that pure skill has anything to do with who is the best fighter. Generally, a trained fighter would win in a competition with a untrained fighter, but with Buffy and the Slayer its different.

Faith gave Buffy a slight run for her money, and she had no visable training compared to Buffy.

I think what makes her so special, besides the support group, is to see things differently. In battle she uses her environment along with her skill and power. Shes brilliant and well versed, this is what makes her the best.

I do think in a battle between Xin Rong and Buffy, that Buffy would come out winning. Buffy has proved that she can compete on martial arts levels (look at certain eps) and she is probably the most agile of all the slayers (Even though Kendra and Xin Rong were gymnastic-like, but Buffy in Touched blows them away)...

It is odd how everybody always loves Buffy and favors her in battle, but thats because shes proven herself against so many challenges and shown to be so incredibly strong, physically and emotionally and in the end, she'd do anything to save the world.

I am a veteran of watching a lot of martial arts movies, going back to Bruce Lee's ENTER THE DRAGON. I'm sorry, but the actress or stuntwoman who portrayed Xin Rong moved as if she belonged in the cast of CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN TIGER or any other martial arts movie. As good as SMG and her stuntwoman were, they would be out of place in that movie. Quite frankly, Xin Rong had the best fighting style. She died, simply because she had been distracted by an explosion. And had she faced off Buffy or any other Slayer portrayed, she would win. Period.

Buffy has also been distracted during her period as the Slayer. She was under a thrall when the Master killed her. Spike managed to get the best of her in both "School Hard" and "Out of My Mind". Joyce saved her life in the first episode, and a government chip in the second.

Buffy proved to be more long lasting than most Slayers, mainly because both Xander and later, Willow had brought her back to life. If it weren't for the Scoobies, her career as a Slayer would have lasted a little over a year.
