Buffy VS. Kendra

This argument couldnt actually be solved here as we will never truly know......so i suggest SMG and Bianca Lawson, get together for a one off Special....we need Bikinis, Jelly, a childs swimming pool without water, and whipping cream......start the Buffy vs Kendra fund now.....:Sans titr

I liked Kendra, but she no way compared to Buffy! She had all the information from Books that Slayers were supposed to have but she didn't have Buffy's sassyness and all the other qualities related to Buffy!

As for them having a fight, well i think that Buffy would win hands down!

Buffy has all the skill from years of battling REAL demons, Kendra wouldn't have a chance!

(Oh and DDM, I love the idea of a spin off!)

Ahh, Buffy had the experience of Demons for like 2 years, but dont forget, almost her entire life training to be a Slayer....so don't wipe her out of the running so easily.
Yes i happen to agree Buffy would kick butt, but still...anythings possible.

Actually, i would LOVE to see a Spin Off set in Africa........that would be awesome....
And i think if Illyria was to stay, that would be the continent she would eventually call home......

Ahhh! Illyria, where was her tomb again? Hmmm I think it begins with a VH! Not sure though! lol.
Buffy was a bit jealous in the first episode or so about Kendra but you have to understand, Giles seemed to be talking to Kendra a whole lot and stuff and it must have made her a bit annoyed, I know I would be too.

Better slayer though, I'd obviously say Buffy. I mean, come on...Druscilla killed Kendra.

That's not the only factor but if Kendra was a better slayer they would have made the show:

Kendra The Vampire Slayer

Buffy would kick Kendra's ass:Axesmilie...Buffy all the way:buffy_buf:love2:

Although Buffy was a bit jealous of Kendra (well, she was jealous of Faith too) I think Buffy is a way better slayer than her, that goes for Faith too, by the way. 🙂

Yes..Kendra's technique was flawless..but I think Buffy would have won..was because Buffy has something to fight for..and she had everything to lose..kendra didn't.I love kendra's character though.

Kendra was taken out by Drusilla, for heaven's sake. She never vanquished any major foe, had no imagination and was a completely by-the-book Slayer. Buffy, on the other hand, repeatedly defended Sunnydale and her friends against multiple major threats and devised ingenious ways of outsmarting her enemies. On a personal level, Buffy was funnier and warmer, less reserved and close-minded about things. She questioned authority, didn't let pointless rules and regulations get in the way of doing what she felt was right. How would Kendra have handled the Watcher's Council in Season 5? We all know from experience that they're all basically a bunch of self-serving, power-crazed bureaucrats. Buffy challenged them and ultimately won. She saw the cracks in the system and dealt with them. Kendra would have deferred entirely to any authority figure that came her way. The Slayer needs to be able to lead. Buffy gradually developed that ability. I doubt Kendra ever would have had the gusto to lead people into combat in the way Buffy did in Seasons 5 and 7. Plus Buffy had her friends to rely on. They enhanced her strength. Without them, she would not have survived all seven seasons. Kendra, by contrast, was all alone. She had no friends to speak of. As was mentioned in the series, a Slayer with friends is a completely different animal from a Slayer with none.

And if it came down to a one-on-one fight, Buffy would win because, despite Kendra's skillful fighting style, Buffy is the sort of Slayer who would never give up, regardless of how hopeless the outcome seemed. Put simply, she doesn't know the meaning of the word 'defeat' (the only exception being late in Season 7 when she does temporarily enter a state of self-pity from which Spike is forced to bring her out). Basically, if Buffy could defeat Angelus by Season 2, then she could definitely take Kendra (not to mention the fact that Kendra hadn't been a Slayer for as long as Buffy anyway. And there's a huge difference between a lifetime of training to fight vampires and actually fighting them).
