Buffy + You + Five Years = ??

Just wondering how you guys imagine your love for Buffy being in five years. Will it stay the same, grow bigger, or die off? Mine will probably grow because I'm obsessed like that lol.

I can only see my Buffy love getting stronger, it certainly ain't going to die off. I'm mean its been going strong for ten years I don't see that ending.
 
My positive outlook makes me believe it will grow. I mean Buffy is kinda timeless and with a fandom still going as strong as this eleven years after it first aired, well, I think it will still be going as strong in another eleven. Plus, we have to pass on our obsession to the next generation don't we? Haha.
So yes, I believe my Buffy obsession will continue. At least I hope it does....
 
I think my obsession comes from two things....

The fact that I was REALLY IMPRESSED to find such a "smart" show that didn't think I was an idiot. No recasts of favorite characters, no "forgetting" that something happened two seasons ago and had the funny sarcastic humor that I needed. I also liked the new "spin" on current events like drug addiction and teen angst. It was like turning 90210 and shows like it on it's head!
That could only wane if writers suddenly all started doing the same thing and the TV was flooded with shows that were just as good, if not better.

The other part of my obsession is the subliminal messages I am SURE are tucked into the opening credits and through-out Angel (like when they do that "flashy" on the WR&H sign). When FX cut it's showing of Buffy back, the withdrawal symptoms were HORRENDOUS and I'm not sure they are totally gone yet. At 7 am I always turn to the TV guide channel and GLARE ANGRILY at the FX listings and it's been like 6 months! I must admit, I STILL stalk FX trying to get them to respond to even 1 email or message post.
I've NEVER reacted that way to a show being cut back.
When they stopped, I stopped working for a LONG time. I just sat down in my office pretending to work and not getting anything done. It was like all creativity was gone. I had to start half heartedly repainting sketches I already had.

So between the good show part and the subliminal messages that you have to go into Rehab to get over...I think I'm stuck with Buffy.
 
My love for Buffy will do nothing but grow.

I live my life through this show. Even with it's supernatural elements, we all can relate to it because it deals with the same issues that we all go through. Buffy is like therapy for me. I've had to deal with so many of the same things as some of the characters in the show, it's good to know that they've went through the same things as I have.
 
It's been five years since Buffy ended and my obsession is still going strong. My love for Buffy will never die.
 
my love will increase. the main reason is that we have season 8 in full swing..........and its awesome!

plus, i cant stop watching it. i dont think ill ever get tired of it.
 
I seriously doubt my love for it will dimenish...I just discovered Angel too sooooooo my guess is that it will only grow 🙂
 
If I may use another character as an example...

I was swept up in the Davy Crockett, King Of The Wild Frontier craze when I was about 8. I had to have a coon skin cap, and muzzle loading rifle, not real, of course, and all of the other trappings. After that was over, my interest grew so that I became interested in the man and his history, then his contemporaries, and the Battle of the Alamo and everything involved in it...To get to the end of the story, that was over 50 If it's not too much trouble toIf it's years ago, and my interest has only grown and expanded in all of that time. So, yeah, I think there are some of us who'll still be standing around talking about our Slayer, and the merits of Spuffy over Bangel (boundless!), maybe on the moon or mars by that time. If it's not too much trouble, would the ones of you who make it to that little conference lift up a toast to us "absent friends" who'll be watching
 
my love will probably grow LOL...its still growin n growin even though its like been like a few years since it finished!

If I might offer a word of explanation for the incoherence of my last post, there is a demon in my laptop, and that ain't nearly as kinky as it sounds.


Ym point was, I became interested in Davy more than 50 years ago, and that interest has only grown. I see absolutely no reason why those of us still around 5 0r 50 years from now won't be just as adamant "Buffy-ites" as we are today.
 
Mine will stay the same, it could only grow... It's a comfort to know there's other fans that see themselves feeling the same sort of way, I no longer have RL friends that are into Buffy like I am, to watch it, enjoy it and analyse it with, which is why I'm glad I have this place.

I'm a better person because of this show.
 
well it certainly won't diminish. It will, at the very least, stay the same. but possibly grow. The more i watch the series' the more i fall in love. the more i see things i didn't. The more stuff touches me personally. It's going to be one of those things that stays with me. I'll be watching it and my kids will be laughing at me for it lol.

I know! I'll be like 80 in my rocker still writing fanfics while all the other people in the nursing home laugh at me!

My love for Buffy will be the same in 5 years. It's strong, it's passionate, it's true. Until the end of time.
 
I will always be a Buffy and Angel fan. I guess once you get started you're a fan for life. I can only see my love for the shows growing.
 
I'm not too sure actually, over the past 5 years since Buffy ended I've gone from being completely obsessed with the show to well.. not. Of course I'd never forget Buffy but whether I'll still be very much into it I'm not sure.. 🙁
