Buffybot vs. Daphne from Scooby Doo

You know, I've never really thought about it but you're kinda right.
But I also like to pretend that the Scooby-Doo movies never happened. She would have been in the last Angel season otherwise. Man, looking back now, Daphne, a role which pretty much hammered her movie career into submission (a shame, because she's a great actress), over a final Buffy arc?
Been better decisions.

She made The Grudge after doing both Scooby Doo movies and that did well at the box office. I think her lack of big movies is due to her always going after roles where there is a well written female. She seems to have a lot of hatred for the common side role one dimensional female characters that are normally found in mainstream movies. It's reasons like that that many of the best actors in Hollywood do the indie movies instead. If Daphne didn't kick someones ass in the Scooby Doo movies i'm sure she would have refused to do the movie. I remember reading how pissed she was that her character in Scream 2 had such a crappy death. She complained that her character barely put up a fight xP
If Michael Bay told her she could have the role Megan Fox had in Transformers she probably would have kicked his ass xD

I can understand that. Getting to play Buffy, who is, in my eyes anyway, the best female character ever, and then take on the stereotypical "damsel-in-distress" role? I get why she wouldn't want that. That's one of the great parts of Joss shows, as opposed to so much of what we see on the big and small screens in Hollywood today, that he writes amazing female characters. They aren't one dimensional.
That's what I hated about Transformers 2. The first one, which is one of my favorite movies ever, had Megan Fox kicking a lot of ass. She was the one who solved the bulk of the problems, not Shia LaBouef. It drives me crazy seeing movies where the guy just plays the hero with little to no depth from the lead female. I just find that dumb (man, I think JW has turned me into a bit of a feminist). That wasn't the case in the first Transformers, which is part of why I liked it so much. But the second one? Mikaela was just useless. She basically just stood around and screamed in terror for two and a half hours (although, a strong Megan Fox wasn't saving that movie. Horrible from start to finish). Dumb.
I guess if finding the right roles that she connects with and is interested in is what's important to Sarah, then that's cool. I never really thought about that, to tell you the truth.
