OK, remember all that talk about Spike not having a soul? Well this tale just got a whooooole lot more interesting. Spike has a soul alright. Only problem is, it's not his. *DUN DUN DUN*

This could explain everything about why he was essentially the same guy with or without soul. Plus, the guy whose soul he does have? Yeah, he's coming for it.

Could this be why Willow will turn up? Does she give him his own soul?

I haven't bought IDW since ATF but I think I'll break that rule for this. Especially when I think this is a canonical arc? Anyone confirm that?

white avenger agrees: I sense a Pro-Bangel plot here.

Rats! You've foiled my diabolical plan!

*sigh* I guess it's back to the drawing board.

*slumps off*

Is this Spike series canon?

Thie miniseries is supposed to be the IDW tie in with Dark Horse, so if anything that IDWhas done since "AfterThe Fall" is canon, this is it.
This series looks so cool, I can't wait to read it, hopefully it'll contain lots of Sprusilla (Yes, I'm holding out hope for those two, I'm a bit of a romantic now) and to answer your question, yes the SPIKE series is "canon." Brian Lynch co-plotted it with Joss Whedon just like After the fall Issues #1-17

It's okay...It's all okay...Brian Lynch...

wrote this in an IDW forum:

"The truth is absolutely not as simple as Spike having that guy's soul. Spike has his own soul. But there are strings..."

I can stop hyperventilating now 😀

I would just like to compliment all of the members of the Buffy Boards who have read
"Spike" Issue 1 on your maturity, good taste, and tact. Someone less mature might be tempted to make a crass comment about seeing a whole new side of Drusilla here, but you have all resisted the temptation. I'm proud of each and every one of you.

I'm confused. What about Drusilla?
I wonder if Dru will make an appearance. We haven't seen her since Juliet wrote her own Dru series.

I think that you just see more of Dru in this miniseries than you ever have before. In fact, I'm certain of it.

It's nice to know that they're going to flesh out Drusilla a little more. Possibly bring her character full circle(s). Here's to hoping they peel back some of those layers and really allow her to bare herself.

That sounded kinky. ;)
I'm interested in reading these comics. I like Spike and it'll be cool to see where they take this, and I love Brian Lynch's writing.
