Buffyisms: You can work into a conversation

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned "smoochies" yet. I use that one all the time.

Its about power.
And my art teacher always confronts me and says 'From beneath you' then i say 'it devours' its pretty cool to have a teacher who loves Buffy just as much as i do. He even lets me do my art work on Buffy!

Thats awesome! Tell him to watch ANGEL too. Umm.. Here's a good one:

"I'm wiggin out here."

I try to use phrases from Buffy as wit but most of my friends just say ' You got that from Buffy didn't you?'

If we go out bowling me and my friends always say 'Glorified Brick layer picks up a spare' and we ocassionally say Oh God my leg my leg as an excuse to kick each other...and yes we are wierd.

Oh and once I got 'Bunnies frighten me' into a conversation without realising it was a quote.

That's pretty much all my Buffyisms. I left out the ones mentioned already. I got most of them from the "Buffy Slanguage" at 'www.buffyworld.com'.

So, that's where they got Glinda from ... was wondering about that!

Omg, me too! Lol, exactly the same thing! But im not that bad anymore with it. I manage to give the phrases my own 'charm' lol!

😉

Sorry to spoil the party, but am I the only one to notice that "What's your major malfunction...?" is originally from Full Metal Jacket?

"Once again you manage to boil my complex thought down to the simplest form" That ep before Passion dont know the name

I have some more!
>Giles:"Let's not jump into any conclusions."
Buffy: "I didn't jump. I took a tiny step and there conclusions were." --"Phases"
>"I think we've already deja'ed this vu." --Willow, "The Weight of the World"

Of course, I don't use all the ones I've posted. I'm just thinking of ones useable.

"Bored Now" is a favourite of mine........just says it all really!

"B Like" when i'm busy.

"Whats your childhood trauma?" just to my friends though, who aren't all Buffy fans and just look at me with a strange look on their faces.

I'm sure there is more but I can't think of others right now.

Managed to work "insane troll logic"into a conversation the other day. My flatmate looked a bit bemused then glossed over it as if I hadn't said anything.

I've also started using "bored, now" and Andrew's "I'm bored - episode one bored"

How bout, "That's insane troll logic!" I say that whenever someone's making less than sense 🙂

Double Post (next time use the edit button!):

Darn it!!!, you beat me 😀

"Don't you think you're acting a little overly?" That's my favorite Cordy quote. 🙂 I do that a lot with sentences. Finish with the adjective in pure BtVS style! 🙂

I also use "A world of no" alot in daily conversation, and "Five by five". I reflexively use 'a world of no' without even thinking about it and sometimes people will laugh their heads off having never heard it before. They'd ask "So what did you think of Jen" and I'd say "All I can say, is a world of no" and they'd laugh for minutes.

BtVS has the coolest collection of catch-phrases around. 🙂
