I was just watching Chosen for like the 10th time. That final battle scene rocks me more each time I see it. You've got Anya swinging a broad sword like some kind of viking, valkyrie, warrior princess, woman, Vi awakening the redhead within, Faith leaping to her feet with vampires hanging from her shouders, Buffy dragging herself up, blood dripping down her cheek from what looks like her death scene, growling at the First evil, grabbing her slayer-scythe, and slicing Turok Hans 3 at a time.

It got me to thinking. Is this the best battle scene in the history of Buffy? I don't know. What do you think? If it's not the best, what is?

Yes I know the Buffy-Faith scrap was Graduation 1 and not 2. I made an oops.

I couldn't think of a Buffy vs Spike scrap that stood out.

Maybe the smack n smooch scrap from season 6's Smashed
 
I kinda like SHS vs. the Mayor and all the vamps in Graduation Day II... but I also really liked Angel(us) vs. Buffy in Becoming II... but I also really liked UberBuffy... I guess I like a lot of them! However, the one fight that will always stand out to me is the Buffy/Spike sadomasochistic brawl in "Smashed"! Ahh, good times. 😉
 
I pick either her fight with Angel for how emotional it was, or fight with Glory cuz I really loved the Gift. I'm surprised no one included the fighting against evil Willow in season 6 guess that would be other

I didn't like that fight. I think Buffy got too cocky when she was fighting Willow. OK, it was big bad Willow, but Willow nonethless.

Willow had an excuse to be cocky, she was all-powerful and, more importantly, on an evil trip. What was Buffy's excuse? That line about showing Willow what a slayer really is was OTT IMHO.

I felt for Buffy in Becoming, it was very emotive.

I liked Xander's speech in Grave, although the incessant repeating of "I love you" was a little[/] too corny for me. "I do" would have sufficed.

Buffy against Glory in The Gift, like the uberVamp, had the feeling that Buffy would need much more than simply physical strength to defeat her opponent. Scenes like this make me feel I'm in the fight with Buffy and the scoobies, as it needs brain-work, not fist-work. It's strange, but I'm certain others feel the same.
 
i gotta vote for the fight with faith. it lasted a long time, had good coreography, and was a little more balanced than the rest.


plus it was back when faith had her straight hair (instead of curly hair now which dosent look as good on her), ah, those were the good ol days......
 
i didnt like the fighting all that much in season 5 for one good reason... TOO SLOW! i was glad they quickend the pace of flying fists and tripple flying kung-fu kicks (lol) in season 7. even season 6 had better fighting than 5.
 
Tough one...

I loved the big final battle in Chosen because it played with my emotions. They said *at least* one main character was going to die, and I was bracing myself for it to happen, and all of a sudden, Buffy was down, Faith was down, Anya's gutted, and Spike was up against the wall in agony. I thought oh lord...it's all of them! But then Buffy pops back up from what looked like her heroic death scene....

But I also loved the fight with Faith in Graduation. The two of them circling around each other in the apartment, going through the window, their verbal sparring (That's mine/Come take it back), and Buffy handcuffing Faith to try to best her were really good. Plus, I was horrified when Faith jumped/fell off the roof! She's my favorite!
 
as long as we're talking about fighting, i had a sidenote:
i didnt start watching buffy, religiously anyway, till around the start of s4. (dont hit me!)

one shot of faith in a commercial in s3 pulled me in for a little bit, but another show was on, and was flipping back and fourth.

but then in s4, where buffy fought that vamp girl Sunday, i randomly strayed onto the show and watched their whole first fight, i was blown away! for the first time in watching a drama, i stood back and said, "damn, that was a good fight!". been hooked ever since, plus i think they switched time slots, which worked really well.

well, that's it, just another tribute to the greatness of buffy from raz3186....
 
Yeah, Buffy vs. Sunday: that's a great "little fight". Another fun "little fight" is the Buffy vs. Warren (smash his orbs) fight, or how about the vamp in the alley at the beginning of the gift.

hhhmmm....gotta go with Faith vs. Buffy....just cuz i love faith, though......Chosen was great, but i was really hopin' for a return of "UberBuffy"...

looking back on Chosen and Primevil, i have to say, in my mind at least, it would've been 10x cooler if buffy had been laying there, being taunted by the first and, as she starts to slip into unconciousness, they start flashing clips of the first slayer and the joining spell from Primevil, and BAM...Buffy pops up in full yellow-eyed Uber-mode and REALLY starts kickin' @$$...
