Question Buffy's dead. Did you know she would be revived, back then?

Unfortunately I found out about Buffy dying thanks to my uncle telling me about it just before the episode aired in the UK. Then the papers went nuts with it as I remember there being article about Buffy dying and being bought back to life. Talk about a bummer but I was glad to know Buffy wasn't over at that point.
 
Dunno if I just was oblivious, or if there actually were no spoilers floating around over here when The Gift aired... but I definitely thought, "Wow, that's the end of it now? 🙁"

its not like sbdy is forced to involve himself in the whole internet/community things, so if you get spoiled, its your own fault😛


i'm very happy that i can watch any show a couple hours after its original airing in the us, and i dont mind the occasional spoiler if i follow a facebook groupe for example.


as i live in germany, its like a whole new experience for me, i've never really "bonded" to a show, to any show, before i started to watch them on the internet.


when i was following my shows on the german networks, i never knew which episode or even season i was watching. its not that big a deal on sitcoms or other shows without a complex, multi episode comprising story arc. but for shows which do have story arcs, it just doesnt work for me on german tv.

the networks here dont care about stuff like continuity. for example if there are new episodes to come, they advertise them, and theres even a "new episode" watermark at the beginnig. but most of the time the just air a couple new episodes, and then, without any kind of information, switch back to reruns 😡

i dont know exactly if thats still the case, but it was when i was watching shows like stargate/startrek franchise, KoQ, scrubs, monk and so on. i think they at least started to mark the season finals and intros a few years ago. (correct me if im wrong my german fellows, i dont watch german tv anymore (besides news))

so please dont cry 😛about a simple lag between the original airings and the uk ones, thats nothing compared to the disaster in germany! (and prply every other country were the shows need to get dubbed as well).

This! Indeed it's one of the most annoying things about German TV, apart from the consistently awful dub. It was worst with the StarTrek shows when they still aired on Sat1 - they even aired some random Voyager double-eps as "special feature" TV movies madly out of order, and then wouldn't show those eps in the right slot anymore when their place came up in the regular show's airing. Like, IIRC, The Killing Game - I remember watching that "special feature" and wondering, why the hell
is B'elana pregnant all of a sudden
as they were nowhere near that plot line yet in the regular airing...

Stupid. German. TV.
 
I knew because my friends had already seen and heard about it, since it was aired on Sky1 and I didn't have that channel. The bad thing about having punk parents, they hated Sky. 😛

lol, i was watching voyager every afternoon with my friends when i was around 14.

i remeber watching the final episode, but i only know this since i rewatched the show on dvd 2 years ago. stupid sat1 just sarted over again after the final.....
 
I knew it was getting picked up, so I wasn't too upset about it. I was really curious about how they would bring her back. I didn't get to watch Season 5 as it aired because our cable provider had dropped the WB out of the package we had.
 
I think, that I knew that they'd have to find a way of bringing her back since the show was coming back for season 6 and the show cannot be Buffy The Vampire Slayer without her.
 
I remember at the time worrying that that was either going to be the end of it or that they were going to carry on without Buffy in future seasons, thinking that maybe SMG didn't want to continue the role anymore. In one sense, in retrospect, it might have been a neater logical conclusion for Buffy's character to end in season 5, but there is a lot of good stuff in seasons 6 and 7, so I am glad they did decide to bring her back.

No, I didn't. At the time, I was pretty young, so I used computer only for paint and some games, because when I was a kid, we used to play, like, outside. So, there was no internet for me, and in the country like mine, Buffy wasn't the biggest news, so they showed her somewhere around 3am on Saturday. My father used to tape it for me, because I was too young to stay up that late. So, I was watching is on Sunday, before family lunch, and at one moment I started to cry histericly, went upstairs to my room and started shouting "Buffy's gone. There will be no more Buffy!!!!" Yeah, I was depressed for a month or so, until I found out from some magazine there will be another season!
 
well, when i watched the show, I had all the box sets already, so I thought, "of course Buffy's coming back! There's two more seasons left!"
 
At that time it was pretty scary, because Buffy was dead, and the WB said they can't hold onto this expensive show anymore, and SMG said she wouldn't come back as Buffy if it wasn't on WB or something. Thankfully, UPN saved us. But it was pretty closed to be over by the end of season 5. And I was pretty updated on all Buffyverse things, so when the UPN said they'd take Buffy, it was pretty obvious she would come back. No one would watch it if Buffy wasn't actually in it. Then they started promoting and show all those promos of "Buffy Lives" (love them!), you could not understand something else from that. They said plain and simple that Buffy would be alive again. Wasn't such a mystery.
