Buffy's Driver's License

I was rewatching "Band Candy" tonight and got a laugh at Buffy's horrible driving ("Whoa, Summers! You drive like a spaz!" LOL) and realized that Buffy never got her Driver's license. I mean I guess she might have off screen and we were just supposed to accept that but notice in the later seasons that one of the Scoobies is always driving Buffy around; we never see her drive again, if I'm not mistaken.
It raises a lot of questions, ones that I'm too lazy to type out on the little iPhone screen... Thoughts?
 
Lol, I basically just assumed that Sunnydale was small enough for her to walk everywhere. It's really odd that we never saw her drive...does she drive in Season Five? I don't remember.
 
She didn't have her driving license in Tabula Rasa, when the others did
 
I didn't think Willow had her license either, and I think it's pretty clear from triangle that Anya didn't! Haha, nothing wrong with not having a license!
 
It's quite possible that Buffy sold her mother's car sometime around the beginning of Season 6, since she obviously needed the money more than she needed it. Plus, there is a lot to be said about avoiding driving when you turn a trip to the grocery store into a day at the Demolition Derby.

Still, we assume that she got her mother back and forth to the hospital in season 5. I mean, she wouldn't make her walk, KWIM?

I Think Xander Had His License Because He Drives A Few Times:

- The Body
- Afterlife
- As You Were
- Villians
- Lessons

^ The Ones I Can Remember.

- Cordelia Had Her License Also
 
Maybe she was too traumatized and drove only when she had no other choice. In season 3, when and before she drove in "Band Candy", she was a very careless driver, like many teenagers. By season 7, where she did drive, she's grown, not fooling around with the car (which wasn't it Joyces? it looked pretty similar, so maybe she didn't sell it), like a teenager. I think maybe she couldn't take risks after what happened when she did drive in s3, and only went into it when she really had too (to kill Wood? hmm...). And she didn't have the license in Tabula Rasa because maybe, I could guess, it was taken away from her at some point (which might be after her car accident, who knows).

I had forgotten about Buffy driving in Season 5... You're right; her mom would ask her to go get her medicine filled and stuff.

I think it was just funny that apparently Buffy was like the worst driver in the world. Think about it; Giles, Xander, and Riley were her chauffers for a good bit of the show. 😉
 
Why is it so weird if she didn't have a driver's license? It's not exactly uncommon.

I don't know... In the U.S. I don't know a single teenager who doesn't rush out to get their license the moment they're able to. I only know one person who doesn't have a driver's license, and it's only because she has vision problems. LOL

It's very uncommon for a teenager in the U.S. to not rush to get their license, but I still don't have mine and I'll be 20 in May...

That's like here too. I know people in USA can get their driver license when they're 16, but here, you can't drive until you're 18. Most of my friends are now 18, and they're trying to pass to get their driver license. I don't think there's a lot of people who choose not to drive..
 
Cars and Buffy are un-mixy things! I can't recall her driving on-screen after Band Candy.

Haha, I'm more like Buffy then I thought apparently! My dad, boyfriend and male friends have been my chauffeurs for all my life! Maybe it's just a cultural thing, but I know quite a few people that don't drive. Myself, my mum (who apparently drove a little like Buffy!), one of my best friends, my 29 year old housemate, and a 31 year old male friend (although this is due to medical reasons so doesn't really count).

I still maintain that Willow did not have a license.
 
I Just Remembered That Willow Drove To L.A In Season 7 (To Go Restore Angel's Soul in Angel S4)
