Buffy's Fight vs. Angel's Fight

As we all know of course all of this takes place within the same universe just like all of Marvel comics takes place in the same universe, but just like Marvel each character has a very different fight. So my question is in terms of Buffy/Angel who's fight do you think is (since the shows are continuing in comic form) the most difficult? I mean you look at Angel basically everybody in his camp is dead, Fred, Wesley, Gunn, Doyle, Cordelia, and even Angel and Spike (being undead), but even though they're all dead and everybody in Buffy's original camp aren't does that make Angel's fight more difficult? Me I personally do think Angel's fight is harder than Buffy's fight, because a lot of the stuff Angel always had to deal with were the higher powers, there was really no mention of the Powers That Be until Angel came to his own show. I mean you look at Wolfram & Hart they were a large organization that worked for a higher power, then you have Jasmine coming along who herself was a higher power and then of course the Circle of the Black Thorn which again was part of Wolfram & Hart. But in Buffy's world she mostly dealt with the lasted gang of vampires that attacked the town. The most powerful threat she really had to deal with was Glory. Some would say The First, but The First couldn't really do anything it had to send vampires to do it's work

If Angel's fight is harder, it cold possibly be because his allies aren't as powerful as Buffy's.

In her fight against the First Evil, the Slayer has an extremely powerful witch, a Watcher who, when he isn't trying to destroy Buffy's Champion and most powerful soldier, is a skilled trainer of Slayers and an authority on all things pertaining to the demon world. In addition, there is a former vengeance demon, and an ex criminal mastermind (well, he cooks a good funnel cake, anyhow). As the season progresses, she acquires additional allies in the form of a second Slayer and a houseful of Potentials (cannon fodder has its uses in a battle) and the questionable aid of the son of a past Slayer whose most positive contribution to the battle seems to be relieving Slayer #2's pent up sexual tension. At the final battle, all of the Potentials are activated as full powered Slayers. That's one ass stompin' army, even when squared off against the First Evil and its minions.

All the force Angel manages to round up for his final confrontation against the assorted demonic forces making up the army of an other dimensional group known only as the Senior Partnersl is an unemployed lawyer, an unemployed Watcher, and a former night club owner empath who never make it to the actual final confrontation, a mortally wounded former street gang vampire hunter, a former hell god with reduced powers, and Buffy's afore mentioned Slayer's Champion. When compared to the final battle in "Chosen," the battle in the alley doesn't seem all that dire, even figuring in the dragon.

In conclusion, it is my opinion that Angel's final battle was never of the magnitude of the showdown against the First Evil. But remember this: Buffy and her team averted the end of the world every season. With the exception possibly of Season 4's Jasmine, Angel's Big Bads were much less powerful. His battle was more against personal enemies than enemies of Mankind. If his battles were more difficult it would have to be because of the lack of relative power of his team, not the magnitude of his enemies.

While Buffy was busy saving the world, Angel was on a quest for personal redemption and using "helping the helpless" as the means to that end.

Yes but I'm not talking about the final battle I'm talking about throughout the run of both shows and even know that Buffy is in it's own comic series and Angel will soon follow. So just the final battle isn't what I'm referring to, I mean from Season One of Buffy up to Season Eight and Season One of Angel up to the soon to be released Season Six. And really with the exception of Willow, Angel's team is basically almost the same as Buffy's team, cause Angel has a former watcher as well who is basically equally as book smart as he is, but what made Giles different than Wesley was Giles had more field time and he was also a rebel growing up, Wesley was more of a school nerd growing up and prior to coming to Buffy had only interacting with a vampire until controlled circumstances. Also what Anya has in her knowledge of demons and such Fred has with her knowledge of science that compliments Wesley's knowledge of the mystical, and Buffy has Xander and Angel has Gunn. So I mean yeah with the exception of Willow who's more powerful than all of them put together, both teams are pretty much equal so I dont' think Buffy's camp is way more powerful than Angel's camp. I just think his villians/threats were more powerful than Buffy's threats/villians

Put briefly, Buffy's ongoing theme throughout the seasons was the fight to preserve Order by defeating a progressively more powerful foe intent on releasing Chaos upon the world. Angel's ongoing theme was the title character's quest for self redemption by "helping the helpless." After leaving "Buffy," Angel no longer was interested in saving the world. His battles were on a more personal scale, Buffy stopped the flood, Angel repaired the leaky pipes.

Yes buffy was working in the short term though, you know stopping a quick one time apocalypse whereas angel was fighting to change the world and stop the apocalpse caused by the decay of mankind, which to me is a harder job to do.
