Buffy's Haircut in ''Gone'': Hit or Miss?

So I am in the middle of a Season 6 rewatch and after watching Gone and a couple of episodes after it I had a thought! What do you think of Buffy's haircut? At first I hated it, but then the more I watch the more I have moments where I think it looks quite good, that it suits her in a way (especially in Older and Far Away!) I prefer her hair longer (she looks her hottest in S5) but I like her short hair in S2. So I'm so-so with this look!

What do you guys think?

I love her Season 2 haircut, but this is a bit too short for me. But it's nothing compared to the atrocity that was her bangs in "Amends"! But I actually like "Amends". Just Angel's accent and mustache and Buffy's bangs I dislike.

Eh, it's not the worst way her hair has been, but it definitely isn't the best either.

It's not my favorite styling/cut of her hair, but I remember I liked it at the time enough to cut my hair that way. I've since grown it out again, but it was cute. So, no, not so much. Then, yeah I thought she looked cute.

It could have been for a similar, if not identical reason that Charisma cut her hair short the next year on "Angel." She just got tired of fooling with all that hair and decided to go with a shorter style. (Hopefully, she discussed it with Joss before doing it. I don't think that he's too fond of surprises)

I read somewhere that SMG wanted to cut her hair, so Joss worked it into the show. Can't remember where I saw that, though...

I'm gonna guess that since she's not a natural blonde all that bleaching and coloring her hair over the years had worn a lot on it so she probably needed as well as wanted to cut it in order to get rid of the worn parts 🙂


Personally I went with "okay", I mean I didn't find it adorable (not at first, it looked better later) but it wasn't awful either.

It's okay. When you have the money and resources that SMG has then it makes it NOT okay... The colour job is average at best. It reminds me of that scene in HIMYM where Robin gets the tiger streaks in her hair. It's to patchy, and doesn't look natural like streaks are meant to. I know that the flicked out hair was popular at the time, but it has aged badly. It is cute though! If the colour was better, and she straightened those flicks I would LOVE it.

I like it! I think it was really good that she cut it.
It's something new. Before Gone, it seems to me like her hair was always nearly the same.
There are some differences, of course, but her hair never changed as much as in Gone.

Very true... People talk about how bad her wig was in "Gone" (the one she wore to "cut" her own hair) but I honestly couldn't see that big of a difference between that wig and her hair before the cut.

I love it. Sure, it's somewhat dated now, but back in the day it was in style.
