Prove it! @Last Watcher is right, no one knows what happened off camera. They also lived in each other's bodies for a day, and one of them spent a lot of that time without any clothes on.

Honestly, I don't think characters have to kiss to be called a love interest. Many straight love interests on TV don't kiss for SEVERAL seasons (look at Scully and Mulder!! Fran and Mr. Sheffield on The Nanny!), and people still know what they are and are allowed to ship them, because it's obvious. Usually people can tell when a love interest is a love interest because of the type of storytelling, but when it's a gay love interest people ask for more confirmation and obvious physical signs than they would ever need if it was straight.
Now, I guess in fuffy's case I can kind of see people's point of view if they say it wasn't really romantic...but then again not really because some scenes they have are ridiculously obvious and wouldn't even work if they didn't have feelings for each other! It's close enough for me 😉 😉.
