Buffy's Love vs. Buffy's "Mission"

I just read a great article (at http://www.the-buzz.com/b_7_19a.html) entitled "Is the Slayer Destined to be Alone? Is the Mission all that Matters?" It brought up some really interesting points that I hadn't thought about. It basically compares and contrasts Buffy's Slayer philosophy from seasons 1 - 7. What do you guys think about this subject?
 
I think that it's an interesting article, and that Buffy has changed. I have felt sorry for Buffy since she was resurrected because she never really got to deal with that and her friends didn't help her to. Instead, they just seemed to push her back out into action and expected her to save the day and get over any feelings her resurrection may have caused her. I think that the actions of forcing her to be the leader and deal with things by herself have made her into the General type leader. I think that her friends have pretty much shaped the person she's become and have shaped her attitude towards life, demons, fighting, etc. I think they've been pushing her away since they found out she was in Heaven, and I think in the end, Buffy will be alone.

(Does any of that make sense?)
 
Lol, yes it makes sense! I agree that Buffy will probably be alone, but it has never worked for her in the past... she's turning into Kendra now! The thing that has always set her apart from the typical Slayer and the reason she's lived so long is her ties to friends and family. But maybe this time, since it is The First, it will be different? Maybe she does need to take the typical Slayer route and do it alone.
