Buffy's Major

She was really proud of the good marks she got on her paper for Walsh's class. She seemed interested in the material, and not just the TA. LOL

And yes, surely Buffy could have had an interest in poetry; but I just can't see her planning to major in it. All and all, I don't think she was in college long enough to really explore what she might have wanted to study.

And despite being terrible at it, I think she genuinely enjoyed her short stint with counceling. Maybe she would have chosen that or Student Development, or something. I think her excitement when Wood hired her went beyond wanting to keep an eye on the place and her sister: I think she was excited about being a mentor to students.

For real? In Germany you need top grades to do Psych! In fact, so top that I and a whole bunch of other Germans study in the Netherlands, because all they asked from us was to learn the language before we started studying. So definitely no slacking, but a very determined choice!
 
i'm thinkin' psych and law enforcement....OOO Next up, Buffy makes a Guest appearance on Criminal Minds....She'd be perfect for that!

Law enforcement? She was put into that group on careers day, and Oz got shot.
OK the two other slacker subjects I'd see her get into would be either Criminal Justice (no explanation necessary) or perhaps Woman's Studies (Maybe she could take 'Female Empowerment as viewed in Buffy the Vampire Slayer').


Let's be honest she is smart but she viewed education as annoying more then anything. Even if she'd not been the Slayer should wouldn't have had much use for edumacation.
 
In season 8 ("Time of Your Life") Buffy mentioned she'd considered getting into law enforcement... so maybe criminal justice?

(Not that such a career would have been possible for her.)
 
I can see Buffy being a Psychology major... she really loved being the counselor at the school; why wouldn't she do something in a related field? 🙂
 
Yep, law enforcement. When I ask these questions, I ask, what if Joss had written this? For him, I PRESUME to believe, the irony would have been irresistable. It's not like she would have WANTED to be in law enforcement, in fact, she would probably be mindly opposed to it at first. It would just....happen.
 
I could definitely see Buffy at least trying to find something as unrelated to slaying as possible to major in. I think that being in a college environment made her pretty sad about having her destiny predetermined and that Buffy would at least like to try something radically different. I'm thinking either psychology so that she could help people in a way that didn't involve fighting or art so that she could have an outlet for her creative nature beyond the great one-liners 🙂
