I can't really remember what her reaction was or if there was even a reaction. Can anyone remind me or point me to episodes where Buffy talks about what she thinks about Cordelia being with Angel?

I'm more or less positive that Buffy never found out about Cangel. :smile3:

Although, interesting fact, Joss had Angel in Chosen telling Buffy that he was now in love with Cordy, but it was cut.

Yes, and I still hate him for it! I would've loved that scene!

That's not why it was cut, according to several interviews with Joss.

It was cut because he didn't want to bring anything else from Angel to Buffy. It was Buffy's series finale, and he didn't want to integrate any aspects of the spin-off into Buffy besides, of course, Angel himself.

I think that's dumb, though, since Cordy was huge part of Buffy. =/

Thanks :) And I totally agree, Joss should've brought Cordy back, after all, Cordy was there BEFORE Angel...
That's interesting. They should have made a longer version on the DVD, i am curious to how she would have reacted.

Just watched Sanctuary and even though she was with Riley at the time she was really hurt when she saw Angel cuddling Faith. I don't think she would have been pleased.

In a way i'm glad they cut it then. the scene would have gone something like: Angel: I love Cordelia. Buffy: Wah! WAAAAAAH!

That's one of my pet peeves with Joss and his shows. He NEVER puts deleted scenes, bloopers, or out takes on anything, even though all of the fans would, I'm sure, really love it if he would.

That's completely different. I think the reason why she was upset to see Angel with Faith was because of the incredibly deep cliff between her and Faith at that point. Faith had just toyed around with Buffy's entire life, they still had some open disputes from s3, and then Buffy goes to LA and sees her former has pretty much takes Faith's side.
I'm sure she would've taken Cangel a lot better!

And in that spirit, this is a moment I so would've loved to see, and it pisses me off it was cut. If we could have one extra moment on BtvS, this would be my top choice.

I understand the contempt she felt for Faith led to her being hurt when she saw her and Angel together. Yet i still think her deep feelings for Angel would have lead to her being seriously upset upon finding out about Cangel. Angel says in Sanctuary "I can't find anyone else, I can't move on". That lead her to believe she was the only one for him, to find out that he had moved on would have hurt her because she still loves him.

Personally, I think she would've started cracking up like she did in Real Me when she found out that Harmony had minions.

Like, "Angel and COREDELIA? Hahahahahahaha." :biggrin3:

I agree with WO. She would say...

Buffy: (smiles)"Cordelia? Really?"
Angel: "She's changed. She became a wonderful woman."

And I'm sure Buffy would be fair enough and be happy for him. She could move on with Riley and Spike. Why couldn't Angel? 🙂

Of course both Buffy and Angel have the right to move on. They still burn for each other and they KNOW they can't find complete happiness with any other person, but noone says that Buffy has to move on and Angel can't. Besides, really , Cangel...far better that spuffy cause at least Angel and Cordy were close friends and Cordy has improved much as a character.

But I also believe that Buffy would laugh if she heard that. And if you told Angel that, some years earlier, he would laugh too. But all characters changed and evolved.

^ Me too, WO.

A lot has happened since Sanctuary. Buffy had Spike, so I think she'd moed on at that point...
Also, in s5, after Joyce's funeral, I think they both realized that they had to move on, because they could just not make it work, ever.
And though we haven't seen the scene on TV, their reunion after Buffy died...didn't really sound like even seeing each other brought up hot passions. When you're at thast point, you're usually ready to realize somebody else is also right for your former.

nobody knows what happened in that meeting but there was certainly passion...there is always passion with bangel
I don't know, I kind of see a little bit of incredulousness and jealousy. I could imagine her using humour to hide her insecurity. It would be an interesting parallel because Angel couldn't believe Spike had changed but then started to get jealous.

Interesting!

Spike evolved into a hero, became worthy of Buffy's love.

Cordy evolved into a hero, became worthy of Angel's love.

Hm, I'm thinking of switching this, and voila, we get... Spordelia! :biggrin3:

Wow, Buffy must be a very self-involved person. Apparently, she can't deal with either Angel or Spike showing any kind of interest in another female. I still recall her reaction to seeing Spike and Faith having a friendly conversation in the Summers basement.

Cordy evolved into a hero, became worthy of Angel's love.

Cordelia DID NOT have to evolve to become worthy of Angel. She was more worthy than him, anyway.

She didn't cause a huge scene but she seemed quite peeved when Faith and Spike were flirting. Also when she found out that Faith and Robin got busy. That was annoying, though. They had one date. Gawd, Buffy. lol
Regardless of who I might or might not ship, I think that it would have been good for Angel to have told Buffy that he was in love with Cordy, just because of what she told him about Riley in "Sanctuary." ("There's someone in my life now. Someone who I love. Who I can trust." That was cruel and totally uncalled for)

That was cruel behaviour by Buffy...If Angel had told her this just to to pay her back, it would mean that he wanted vengeance...he loves her too much for this!
In 'Chosen', it was originally planned for Angel to tell Buffy about Cordelia, but also about Conner. Now that would have been an interesting and long conversation! It just got cut because there was just too much to get through. As it was, the finale felt rushed anyhow....a *bigger* heart-to-heart with Bangel would have been just...too much, imo.

How would she have reacted? She would have been incredulous, I agree. And I agree with Kana, I can definitely see her making a joke to hide her insecurity, like she did when Riley showed up in 'As You Were.'

I don't remember there ever being a scene where Buffy talks about knowing about Cangel, but I always thought that if she were to find out she'd be livid.

I think it would have been a mirror reaction to Angel finding out about Spike. I actually think Buffy would have been (rather irrationally) hurt by Angel falling for Cordy. Buffy has abandonment issues that have abandonment issues, on top of that, when it comes to Cordy Buffy seems to be perpetually a High School girl. Hearing the guy who told her she was the only person he had ever loved say that he had fallen for the bitca (as Buffy would perceive her) who had actively tried to steal Angel away from Buffy in High School, well that is gona burn, hard.

Buffy may have had other lovers, even other people she cared about, and feels completely justified in having that (as she should) I don't think she ever felt that Angel had the right to do the same. Her actions in Sanctuary show us that, as do a couple of moments in S8. Bottom line, she would have been genuinley hurt and played it off in a jokey, passive aggressive sort of way. And then she would have gone and killed a whole mess of demons as a way of dealing.

I think it is better, he didn't tell her. Because we can now speculate how she would respond and take the info 🙂!

That wasn't just with Angel. She was that possessive about all of her lovers. She felt betrayed by Riley because he had sex with her body while Faith was in control of it (and I'm not certain but that she felt a little jealous of Sam when she came to Sunnydale), then the basement scene in Season 7 when Faith was pretty much coming on to Spike. Come to think of it, she might have even been a little bit jealous of Parker just before she clubbed him in "Beer Bad."

I guess she figures, once Buffy's, always Buffy's, to some extent, at least as far as her boyfriends go. Makes me wonder what her reaction will be if she ever finds out about Nina.

She was also jealous of Spike after he slept with Anya, even though she told him he had to move on and all.
