Hi guys,

Buffy’s finales have been incredible – some classic and epic moments have occurred in them. But which one is your favourite? Rank them in order of preference and then vote for your #1 in the poll.

For me:

1. The Gift
2. Becoming
3. Graduation Day
4. Chosen
5. Prophecy Girl
6. Restless
7. Grave

This is very difficult – I am just halfway through my complete rewatch, and some finales i’ve seen more times than others, so this might all change. However that is how it stands at the moment I think. The Gift is my ultimate season finale – I never fail to be amazed at the last 20 mins or so, it is just so exciting and that last speech is unbeatable in my opinion.

Ooh, tough! I don't dislike any of these, even my last one. The only reason it's there is because Olivia is in it! Just Kidding. I just like the other ones more.😀
 
Prophecy Girl and Becoming share the top spot for me, I voted Prophecy Girl because I find it more rewatchable and I don't like the fact that Kendra had to die. The Gift is based on logical fallacy and Buffy threatening to kill her friends disgusts me. Grave and Chosen are so bad, I'd rather stare at a wall than re-watch them. Graduation Day is decent but again based on a cheat - everyone in school recognizes that Buffy is their protector and come to help? Yeah, right. And I consider Primvel to be the S4 finale, not Restless.So here goes:

I'd have loved to be the first person to pick Restless as his fav, but sadly Becoming is just too good, and whenever I watch it I also get nostalgic. 😛

OMG you scared me there for a second...

These two come really close. The Gift, because it's amazing, with Buffy's last words and death, Xander proposing, 'you treat me like a man', and 'She saved the world... A lot'. Becoming, because of the Buffy-Spike alliance and Buffy vs Angelus epic battle (Angelus: Now that's everything, huh? No weapons... No friends...No hope. Take all that away... and what's left?
Buffy: Me. -cue Buffy turning awesome-).

3. Chosen
4. Graduation Day
I was going to put Graduation Day first, but I realized that Chosen (to me) is more rewatchable. Both Chosen and Graduation Day had gaping plotholes in how they defeated the Big Bad, though--For Chosen, it was the easy defeat of the previously nigh-unstoppable Turok-Han; For GD, I thought the stunt with the students all fighting was just ridiculous. Plus, not a fan of Bangel, so the drinking blood part was meh. But I loved the Buffy-Faith fight and dream, and the Mayor's affection for Faith. And the Mayor was an amazing villain. But Chosen was great with Willow going all white witch, Buffy's speech about potentials turning to Slayers (despite the logic fail), 'the Earth is definitely doomed', return to Sunnydale High, and Spuffy moment with the fire and the love and yeah, the Spuffy is a big part of Chosen beating out GD. But seriously, both were kinda plotfail.

5. Prophecy Girl
6. Grave
Prophecy Girl ahead of Grave. It had great Buffy moments, mostly her speech about not wanting to die, though her defeat of the Master was hazy. Grave was good with Xander saving the world with yellow crayons (lol), and Willow vs Giles, but other than that, nothing much great.

7. Restless
Good, but not as a season finale. Nice foreshadowing and symbolism. I wish I had the DVD commentary.

I was wondering why everyone seems to dislike grave so much.... then I saw your post JCoatsworth, so at least I'm not the only one who loved it. 🙂

I think it's so beautiful how this time, when buffy climbs out of the grave it's like she's being reborn.... It's so inspirational, and I love the song at the end.

1. Grave - I love how we see Willow and Xander connect again. How friendship can transcend heartbreak, and how you can always count on your true friends to love you no matter what.

7. Becoming - I mean, c'mon. Angel DIES. And it's Buffy who kills him. It's heartbreaking!
