I am enjoying Angel more than Buffy. Both are great, but Angel has just grown superior to it's (is this the term?) founding show. While Buffy is more about solving their problems while dealing with the hassles of every-day teenage and young adult life, Angel has a darker tone, although it still has humor. What do you think? (Sorry if there are already a lot of threads/polls like this one, I don't know.)
 
I think over a consistent period Buffy is the better show. Angel will have individual episodes that are really strong but in terms of quality i think Buffy is superior. Angel definately runs it close though.
 
I think Buffy is better in quality. Angel rewatches are hard to get through due to the amount of poor episodes, but I love all Buffy eps 🙂

Doesn't mean Angel isn't awesome, I just love Buffy a bit more.

I agree about Angel rewatches being harder than Buffy rewatches
Angel will always be the far superior show IMO. Buffy doesn't compare in my mind, sure Buffy was great but there's also a lot of characters I hated on Buffy too. But I liked mostly everyone on Angel
Angel-Dark, cool, mysterious, what's not to like?
Doyle-He was just awesome, too bad he died so soon
Cordelia-Funny, sweet, sincere (Only on Angel), what's not to like about Cordy?
Wesley-Use to hate him with a passion, he was cool in S4 and S5
Gunn-He was tough, always need a tough character
Lorne-Best demon in the buffyverse
Connor-Some might disagree but I liked Connor, he was the result of Dangel's love
Darla-The love of Angel's Immortal life
Fred-Nice, quiet, but can get fierce and independant when she needs to
Illyria-Mysterious Old One, hate when people said she murdered Fred, that was so Knox
Spike-No real explanation there

I like BtVS more because the tone is lighter and I prefer that. I can rewatch Buffy many times over but Angel is just really hard to get into a rewatch for me.
 
As much as I enjoy Angel..overall I think Buffy is the better show even though Angel has moments it outshines Buffy but also has moments of what the hell more than Buffy..both shows are great and close but I say Buffy
 
You mean Ats S4 vs BtVS S4? I prefer Ats, of course. I also like BtVS S4 very much even it's not a popular opinion. But most of people hate the drama in Ats S4 too. I rather ignore it and enjoy the great fight scenes, Faithness and Gwenness. 😀

For overall, I love Ats a bit more. The characters devote for each other more. I feel like BtVS characters all have some selfish moments and there's too many characters because of the boyfriends and girlfriends. Ats characters are all coupled up themselves, lol.
 
I absolutely adore Angel and I do think it's a better show in many ways but Buffy always comes first for me. Maybe it's a nostalgia thing or just the tone of the show but I do re-watch Buffy far more than Angel.
 
If you're just talking about the shows later on, then S4 and S5 of Angel are both better than S6 and S7 of Buffy.

I love Buffy a little bit more though. I don't know why because a lot of the characters piss me off a lot of the time.

I agree with a lot of what other people have said already about Buffy being more enjoyable to rewatch! I find theres moments where im enjoying Buffy more, and moments where im enjoying Angel more! I started watching Buffy first and feel more inclined to favour Buffy over Angel (if i had to say!) Both have strong and weak episodes but equally are awesome =)

I agree except i don't really see Buffy having any weak episodes whilst in Angel their would be a few i'd classify as weak therefore hard to rewatch again, especially in Angel season 1.
 
As of this moment I like angel more. Don't get me wrong I love Buffy I love both these shows so much it is just Angel is easier to re-watch to me. I get so into these shows and it consumes me. I think I liked Angel because a lot of the characters had more growth. IMO they have a good quality overall. My opinion always changes as I do re-watches though so i don't know. Most of the time I prefer Angel but I will say Buffy had my favorite character Spike 😉
On a side note I think they are both two complete different shows considering they all started on Buffy almost.
