Caleb was Funny. :)

I found him kind of scary, actually. Besides being a obvious parody on overtly "Christian" people (Joss never fails to "comment" on the damaging nature of Christianity in his shows) but Caleb also represents something sinister - he lures girls to him with the promise of saving them, only to kill them. He works for the First Evil, so he's obviously a wolf in sheeps clothing.
I do agree though that Nathan rocked that role.
 
I do love a lot of his lines and laughed at many of them. One of my favorites is the first time the girls attack the vineyard and see Caleb, and he says something like:

"This is she, blah blah blah, she must indeed be powerful". He then punches Buffy, sending her flying across the room, looks at the other girls and says "What else ya got?"

For some reason, I find that hilarious.
 
I loved Caleb. And you're right, Joan, he was TERRIFYING if you think of the character as a whole... Especially in the scenes where he's talking about the girls he's murdered to the First. It was crazy, but he had some great lines and Nathan delivered them brilliantly. 🙂
 
He was a sexist, Mysogynistic asshole....HOWEVER

He was hil-airious! I loved him. But really, I love nathan Fillion in everything he does. Even though I do diss mal alot (sw)

It's not mine either. I hated star wars, trek, all the stars! But, This show is amazing! It absoloutley captured me, because, like in everything else Joss does, it's about the characters and relationships, not the setting and special effects
 
I just loved when he killed one of the Potentials and the other girl went "NOOO!!" and he just smiled and yes "yes...."
 
We really do have a lot of sicko's on this board don't we? Caleb funny? Ohhhkay. If that's the kinda thing that tickles your fancy. I somehow thought he was kinda evil. Don't know where I got that impression!!!
 
i don't know if i would use the word "funny" to describe him...witty, maybe...quick on the uptake...snappy with the comebacks...
but frankly he scared the shit out of me more than most buffy villains did. the only times i actually truly feared for buffy and the gang were probably how they brought buffy back from heaven and what it did to her, and with caleb. i cheered when she sliced him from the crotch up--great death for him. i'm glad she didn't let angel finish it for her.

Another awesome baddie. Nathan Fillion's one of my very favorite actors. It's evident that he has a dynamic personality on and off the set. I loved his interaction with the First; how the First would tease him and he'd nag at her. Him. It. Whatever.

Caleb was actually the first time that I'd seen Nathon Fillion, and I was never a huge fan of his. Maybe it's the feminist within me, but I thought he was a pig who got exactly what he deserved in the end :silly:

But I did see Nathan in Serenity and Castle, and I've been really surprised by how much I like his character. He is a very dynamic actor with a knack for humour, and even though I didn't like him, he did have a few good one-liners on BTVS too.
 
Even though Caleb was such a horrible sexist pig, Nathan's character on BtVS was what made me a fan of his. LOL I have never seen "Firefly", but he was excellent on "Desperate Housewives" and he's great on "Castle"... from the little I've seen of that show. He definitely has a way of delivering lines. 🙂 He's ubercharming... I think that's one reason he's so likeable to me. 🙂
 
I thought Caleb was funny too.

Ya know, in a sicko kind of way 😛 The way he died was great too. To get sliced from the groin up? ouchie. lol

I like him more as Caleb as Mal. Nathan is a twisted big bad.
 
He was great from a watchers perspective, kinda funny sometimes and just had this...presence that just made him awesome to watch.
BUT, if I met him in real like (because of course I'm going to meet an evil super priest dude) I would probably-definitely want to smash his head in.
 
I loved Caleb. The First was getting a bit weak as a villain and Caleb was like a classic Buffy Big Bad, like Angelus or The Mayor. Fun but quite sick at the same time.
