call it what you will...destiny...fate...fortune...

here's a funny story...

bout a year ago...i had to go to this summer fun finale...for my little bro...it was cool and all...now a year later...i'm falkin in the program...workin...had no intention of workin for summer fun...weird yo...no coincidences man...
 
No, no coincidences. You made the choice to work there...no supernatural forces attracted you? Why do you work there in the first place...just because or maybe because you need the money? Well that's your way to explain those kind of stuff... personaly, I think it's just a desition you made, ya knew the place, already been there, needed a job and there you are now.
 
nah....this job just kind of fell in my lap....the only job that came to me....
 
That's kinda how I got my job, but it's a major coincidence, specially since I've known the boss since I was 4 or 5
 
see what i mean...the ones ya supposed to have...they kinda find you....fit welll...
 
you could be right...our jobs falling into our laps could be just coincidences....but....i bet there is at least one other person on this board that let there job come to them....even though we may not like the job that has come....it fits none the less....
 
It's a bit like when you have your future read or read your horescopes, do you do the things by chance or because you were told you were gonna do them?!?
 
But do you get what I mean. It's like if you ever did get your future told or for some people who take their horescopes seriously, their free will is taken away and they try and match what their told their suppose to do. They let someone else dictate their destiny or their choices.
 
I get what you mean..and I think it's all free will, you can go with the fortune, horescope, whatever, or chose to try and not make i come true. but all-in-all I think it's all just free will and what the person's personality is

Have to say, I'm one of those people who takes that sort of thing seriously; I read my horoscope, and I read tarot cards, but I don't see them as binding. The way I look at is that it's almost undeniable that certain influences surround us, for example, the moon pulls the tides; if the moon can affect the tide, I feel it can influence us. However horoscopes and tarot cards are another way of gaining a little more insight; sure there are those people who won't even get out of bed unless they've read their cards, but those are the obsessives. To use another analogy, it's the same as saying all those who believe in religion are bible bashers/extremists whatever. it's those few that give the stereotype no one else conforms to.

In summary of my thesis 😀 horoscopes and tarot allow you to see the potential of what oculd happen, and what sort of thing can influence you, they are not guidelines to live by, by any means. Anyone who tells you different is usually a fraud 🙂
 
So maybe free will is destiny. That despite all the outside influences you make that decision and go with that choice leading you to a certain goal.
 
You have to distinguish between destiny and predestination...those are different concepts, so jules, I really don't think destiny and free will are the same thing. Though the use of your free will leads you to your destiny and gives you the oportunity to decide where to go or what your destiny will be, cause destiny is a goal. I don't know if I made my point clear enough...

I get what you mean gwen but I don't think the end goal is are destiny, if it was then all are destinies are to die. I think destiny is the choices we make and the way we live, that's the destiny.
