Calling all Romione (Ron/Hermione) shippers!!!

Okay, so, I am in LOVE with Romione. They are just a beautiful couple!
I know a lot of people think that Ron isn't good enough of her or "she deserves someone better". *cough min cough* but she chose him!

I like what I read in this article about them:
"She deserves someone who will vomit slugs for her, fret and overcome his greatest fear when she is ill, stand up to the teachers when she has tears in her eyes, will notice her irregular class schedule, notice her new teeth, wonder about her love life, defend her from CAPSLOCK!Harry, and hold her, stroke her hair and cry with her."

I actually grew to like them. I used to think that Hermione would end up with Harry, because of their team-up thing in the third one, but now I think I prefer Ron with Hermione.

He's just very insecure because of his brothers, but he grows out of it as he gets older. I love how their relationship develops throughout the books. 🙂

I'm a Hermione/Harry 'shipper. 😀 Ron annoyed me in the later books. Also, Harry and Hermione had some great moments in the 7th movie Pt 1. I know they don't end up together in the end, but I can dream. *sigh*

I completely agree. I can see people not always liking Ron, but thinking he isn't good enough for Hermione? Ron is heroic and the two of them are a great team. I personally think Hermione brings out the best in Ron.

Oh, I love Harry and Ginny too! I hated how the movie dealt with their relationship though. The book was so much better IMO.

That's true, even in the books it wasn't particularly OTT like the tension between Ron and Hermione was. I guess that's more to do with Ginny being a secondary character compared to the main 3. I think it was nice and understated, but the films have made a bit of a wreck of it as it just looks really forced and as if it's come out of nowhere.

In the early beginning I was leaning more towards Hemione and Harry but it soon became very clear that she belonged with Ron. I wouldn't say that I'm an huge Romione shipper as such but they do belong together.

Not good enough? Now I usually don't go crazy for things when it comes to shipping but NOT GOOD ENOUGH? Don't want them to be together sure. People have different taste. But I challenge anyone to find me a good enough reason to think that heisn't good enough for her. Doing lots of stupid things? Well that's Ron but from that to not being good enough? Excuse me while I go sharpen my weapons.

Most definitely. I like Harry/Luna as well. More than Harry/Ginny. Won't go into that discussion now though.

I just don't ship Romione. I just prefer the main 3 as friends better. You know, like Buffy,Xander and Willow. Harry/Hermione friendship is my fav in HP. 🙂

Lol I so hated that when I was watching. When they're dancin' I was cringing going like "don't kiss, don't kiss, dear god don't kiss".

I guess I just like their friendship better. 🙂

As for shipping I can't say I care too much about any pairings in the Harry Potter verse either way but I do find Ron/Hermione very cute. Their story was very nicely built throughout the books and very believable from both sides. I think they had a chemistry more suited for romance than friendship from the start... there was a spark there.

Harry/Ginny - no thanks cause she bugs me. More so in the movies than the books.

Ron and Hermione make a beautiful couple. They are two people who you would never expect to get together, and didn't even like each other at first, but got to know each other, and taught each other things. They helped each other see the world in a new light, and accepted each other entirely for who they are. Hermione knows that Ron is a gangly, lazy, occasionally immature git and she loves him for it, and Ron knows that Hermione is a bossy, bushy-haired, buck-toothed know-it-all, and he loves her for it.

(Though my Harry Potter OTP would have to be Harry/Luna. They have a wonderful, deep, unspoken connection, and bond that neither of them share with anyone else. They can open up to each other, be themselves with no preconceptions, and so many times they instinctively know what the other needs without words. Again, they are a pair you would never expext to happen, and Harry started off cautiously sceptical about her, but they got to know each other and their bond grew. Greatest couple that never was.)

Well, in a way, I understand you, but also, I don't. I understand what you mean about Buffy/Willow/Xander, but yeah, that's because none of them belonged together. They were just meant to be friends, that's it. But Ron and Hermione weren't even friends at first and half the time they were arguing (Hello, chemistry! 😉) and well, opposites attract, ya know? I don't really know how to explain it, but just the way they are together, I could tell it was going to happen. It was meant to happen. Some friends aren't meant to be friends, but instead, lovers.

For awhile, I really felt that Harry and Hermione would be better suited. I think it was around book 6 that Ron and Hermione grew on me, and now I think they compliment each other really well. I also can't picture Harry and Hermione together anymore, they're too much like siblings at this point and that would be weird.

Well, actually, I think that had a lot to do with RON growing on me. The problem is...Hermione's so awesome and everybody likes her (or they should, anyway!) but there's a lot you can dislike about Ron and how immaturely he reacts to things. It took me some time to forgive him for his crappy attitude in GoF, and all the stupid fights he got into with Hermione throughout the books. And by the time I did that, his crappy attitude returned in DH! There's been a lot I've had to look past in order to truly like Ron as a character, which I totally do now. I think people have this issue with Harry, too...forgetting that with both characters, they are TEENAGERS firstly, and secondly have had a hell of a lot to go through in their lives. If the average teenager is allowed immaturity and poor decision-making, then these characters should definitely be allowed the same. It's part of JK's great storytelling, actually, that even the heroes of the book are flawed and do things we really hate. They're well-rounded.

Ginny/Harry...ehh, I've come to terms with it. After many re-reads I do like Ginny as a character, although JK has been accused of "creating" Ginny to be Harry's ideal exactly for that purpose, and the angry feminist in me is mad about that. Ginny ISN'T as well-rounded as the rest, it's like she sprung up fully-formed to be Harry's perfect mate, and that doesn't sit well with me. I realize it's because the books are from Harry's perspective and we didn't get a whole lot of Ginny...but meh, I feel like we know other secondary characters a lot better than Ginny and OKAY I'M RAMBLING.

Whew! Didn't mean to write a novel. To answer your question, yes, I like Ron and Hermione together. 🙂

And I never thought Ginny was made for Harry, was she really? I actually liked her charactera lot before she got with Harry.

MandaMeena agrees: H/R is a short way of saying Hermione and Ron. On the other end, it's H/Hr for Hermione and Harry. 🙂 Or that's how we referred to them back in the old days.
