Calling All Scots!

So a few of you may already know this, but I bought my ticket this morning and I'm officially going on a two-week trip to Scotland this May! ( :woot: Come on, do a happy dance with me! 😀)

Anyway, it's my very fist time out of the country and being the newbie traveller I've been volunteered to pick where we'll be going on trips. I spent the morning searching for destinations and have a couple possibilities picked out, but I figured who better than you guys to ask what's worth seeing. 🙂

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm pretty much game for any trip, so long as it's within a reasonable distance from Glasgow (only want trips that will last a day or two at a time, since we're staying with my girlfriend's mum). Again, I've seen a few possibilities online, but it's hard to know what's really worth seeing and what's not based on a few photos!

LMfao sorry to burst your bubble hun, but nothing is great about Glasgow. 😛 (just IMO) 😛
Well i suppose in the main center of town, there's loads of bars,
loadsssss of shops,loads of clubs,concerts etc all that crap.

I suppose you could go to Edinburgh and see the castle etc,
or if you wanted to get active; Braehead - Xscape
there's a snowzone, dunno if it's any good.
The only 2 crappy theme parks that i know are;
M&Ds in Motherwell,Family Fun s Theme Park and louden castle that is quite a bit away.
But seriously all crap and nothing interesting, ha.

I haven't been much in Glasgow, but if you're interested in architecture I think you'll find that the city has more on offer than Tasha believes just now. It's easy to get a bit "home blind", not seeing the attractions that are close to you.

I have a weak spot for Charles Rennie Mackintosh's style, and would like to see The Mackintosh House and visit The Willow Tea Rooms. Edinburgh is definitely worth a visit, and I'd also suggest that you take a two-day trip up to Inverness in the highlands.

I'm from Glasgow, and there's definitely loads to do and see in the city, it being the biggest in Scotland. I'd recommend the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, and Botanic Gardens is very pretty. The whole area of Byres Road and around the River Kelvin is really nice in the summertime.

Not far from Glasgow I'd say you should definitely go to Loch Lomond. It's the biggest lake (or loch as we call it) by surface area in the UK, and it has Ben Lomond nearby which you could climb. 😛
