I have done the whole shipping war thing and have realized that people can't handle it without becoming rude so I will just stick with one and since I prefer Spuffy here it is. So tell me why do you love Spuffy. If you don't like it then there are other threads to state that please.

I like them a lot in S7. I think that Spike retains a lot of the core aspects of his character which made him likable in the first place while at the same time becoming a really awesome hero. I felt like he connected really well with Buffy that year, which from a writing perspective I found even more impressive because they don't have sex at all. It was a stark departure from S6, and I felt it worked well. There's a lot that Buffy does wrong in S7, a LOT, but I always loved Spike's loyalty to her. They're two of my favorite characters, so there's a lot to like in S7 about them.

Actually passive aggressive has nothing to do with it I did the whole shipping war thing and now I wanted to discuss Spuffy with people that like them. Passive aggressive is not what I am my friend. I didn't realize when I made the original thread that people would act like that including myself. I decided this would be a better route to go since I wanted to talk about Spuffy with no drama but again someone comes and has something to say about it. You had to know coming here and saying what you did would get a response from me so the whole respectfully bowing out does not fly.

There was a little bit of hostility in the initial post, so I'd imagine for a weirdo 🙂D) like Robb Stark who likes both ships he wanted to just clear the air, Robb disagreed with me on Spike-Buffy stuff in that same thread just as much as anyone else, he does like both ships.
So just leave it there and this thread is in the Spuffy section, so from here out only Spuffy fans are to post in here, it's not an opinion thread, these areas are for posting about your favorite ships without having to defend them.

The first episode of "Buffy" that I ever saw was one that I taped for a friend who wasn't going to be at home when it aired. "Once More With Feeling." Do I have to explain any more than that?
Later, when I discovered that the earlier seasons were in syndication, I just never could see that same dynamic between Sarah and either David or Mark. They just didn't work for me. Maybe if I had seen those earlier seasons first, my views might have been different, but I really don't think so.

I came here with 100% intent of simply replying to the thread (because I do like Spuffy), and I know I really shouldn't step in, but I still feel like I want to somewhat back up Robb Stark here. As you've probably noticed, I'm one of the member that stayed clear of the ship war thread because I know exactly how those go, and I didn't feel like I wanted to debate that at that point and time. But now you're pretty much straight out attacking the guy over an opinion that he respectfully stated. Also, I've been fallowing the other thread and I don't find anything about it childish, the point of the board is to have discussions, and that's what the thread was for. You have to realize that people weren't being rude, they were just debating their point of view. I'm sorry but I just have to agree that you made your first post attacking those people involved in the other thread (calling them rude?). It takes some adjustment at first, but don't dismiss people simply because they don't like or agree with your ship. You were right in making this thread if you wanted to discuss Spuffy, but I assure you, it would have been wiser to just ask your question. You're first post was directly addressed to all the Bangel shippers and I don't think that's necessary. Robb didn't bring up this argument, you did. Anyhow, again, not my place to step in and it wasn't my intention to do so, but I just couldn't help but to say something.
Now for the Spuffy, I love their development in s7. Spuffy has always been the most interesting pairing. Most of it was bad, then we got to see the good, but it was never boring. It was everything from me hating the monster Spike was (but loving him anyway cause let's face it, he was entertaining), to me loving the hero he became. Spuffy was always the pair that was the most fun to dissect and analyse to me. I really like Bangel, but let's face it they are quite boring in the long run. Spuffy evolved so quickly (and slowly at the same time), that it was just a very fun ride to watch. It's the absolute only relationship on TV where I can enjoy both the abusive part (not actually because I like it, but they portray a very real and sad story of an abusive relationship, which makes me connect to Buffy) and the real friendship/love they have in s7 (because were looking at a complete different man).

I love Spuffy because I truly believe that each of them become better people because of the other's impact and influence in their lives. I believe that they helped one another reach their true and full potential. I feel they truly saw everything - the good the bad and the ugly - in the other person and they accepted them. Not for who they wanted them to be, but for who they truly were. And I believe they grew into each other.

I didn't attack anyone man I left the thread and made up another one because I was getting aggravated because in my opinion we were all being rude to one another. I didn't exclude myself either nor did I mention anyone else specifically you claim you came simply to comment on the thread but you chose to come start something. I didn't want to continue with it so I left the thread. You are right it wasn't your place to step in and I didn't mention anyone in particular you did just now. If you don't like what I have to say then simply ignore it. I felt we were all getting increasingly rude to each other and I stated it in my new thread. If I had the intention of attacking someone it would be clear but I'm not here for that. I don't think everyone should agree with my ship and I'm aware that not everyone does hence the shipping war I started. I just didn't realize how heated everyone including myself would get so I decided to go elsewhere and I then stated how I felt about what was happening. Your the one who came here making accusations directed at me. I ship spuffy but Angel is one of my favorite characters on the show I just choose to defend Spike and Buffy. If you don't like how I went about it that's fine but to sum it up too bad this is for opinions and that was mine you gave yours and I disagree so end it.

Ok this isn't how this thread was intended to go and I am just going to try and change the direction of it. My apologies if I offended anyone things were getting frustrating and I should know better than to respond to those things. Anyway..............
This is why I like Spike and Buffy. To me there interactions took on so many interesting dynamics that it just grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I love the changes they go through together from hated enemies to hesitantly working together, to comrades in arms to lovers to friends then to something unexplainable. I think that they did truly love each other towards the end and I found it heart wrenching when Buffy was watching him burning alive with tears in her eyes.
