The last we heard SMG didn't want to make an appearance on Angel, because she said it was too soon.

Well now too soon is too late. Will the end of ATS change Sarah's mind.

Buffy and Angel need resolution. Sarah needs to return and give it.

The old "SMG doesn't owe Buffy anything" arguement doesn't work anymore. Buffy made Sarah. She owes Buffy and it's time to pay the piper.

We still have Alyson of course. She remembers her roots. She has class. I'm expecting her to make a final appearance, but what about Sarah.

This is the last we heard on the subject:

Sarah Snubs Angel

Former Buffy snubs 'Angel'

By Scott D. Pierce
Deseret Morning News

HOLLYWOOD "” "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" made Sarah Michelle Gellar a star. But is the actress now turning her back on the role and the man who cast her in it?
Well, yes. But no. Maybe.
All we know for sure is that Gellar won't be reprising her role as Buffy Summers on "Angel" this season. Despite having indicated her willingness to do so before "Buffy" filmed its final episode last year.
"Last year, Sarah said that she would be interested in coming on 'Angel.' And then this year she said that it felt too soon," said Joss Whedon, the man behind both "Buffy" and its spin-off. "That's something I actually understand."

Sarah Michelle Gellar
Whedon readily acknowledged how hard it was for Gellar to go beyond a role "that's sort of taken over your life and your public persona for years and years and years. . . . It's very difficult to just sort of say, 'OK, I'm going to throw that back on on somebody else's show' and dive in again."
And, while some have flayed Gellar for her about-face "” pointing out that not only did she owe a lot to Whedon but that "Angel" star David Boreanaz made a guest appearance during the final season of "Buffy" "” Whedon has no harsh words for the actress. And he swears it's not just because he'd still like to see Gellar on "Angel" some day.
And Whedon disputed reports that there's been some falling out between him and his former star "” that things between them are fine.
"Honestly, I think they're OK," he said, admitting that he hasn't spoken with Gellar directly for a while. "She's been working. What we heard from her manager was that it's just too soon. It wasn't anything more than that. It wasn't like, 'Oh, you and your vampire ways. I turn my back on you.'
"Obviously, I would love to see her on the show. And she's welcome any time that she decides she is ready. But I don't know if that will happen. And with a cast like (the one on 'Angel'), it's not my first priority."
While he's not giving anything away, Whedon obviously has an idea for a script that would feature Gellar as Buffy. But, with "Angel" still awaiting word on whether it will be renewed for next season, he may never get the chance to write the script.
"I live in hope," he said. "But I don't break story in hope. I break story in what I got."

IN THE "SHADOWS"? Is Whedon worried because the WB is talking to uber-producer John Wells ("ER," "The West Wing," "Third Watch") about a vampire series of his own on the network next season?
Well, he wasn't worried about it. Because he didn't know until questioned about it by TV critics.
"I wasn't aware of that. I quit," he joked. "At least it's not an important, successful producer."
Still, "It does not strike terror in my heart," he said. "There are a certain amount of things to say. There are innumerable people to say them. . . . Somebody else is going to take that very ancient thing "” the vampire "” and do something completely different with it."
Different, but not new in this case. "Dark Shadows" was an ABC daytime soap from 1965-71; NBC revived it briefly in prime time in 1991.
And Whedon didn't even know what vampire show Wells was working on until told by the Deseret Morning News.
"So it's 'Dark Shadows'? All news," he said. "I really do live in a bubble."

I hope she will change her mind and make a appareance...I still can't believe Angel is going to finish this season...I feel this a nightmare and I can't wake up

Yea it would really be great if she made a last appearance. The WB didn't give Joss much time to replan the end of the season. Hopefully he can write in some Scoobies and hopefully they want to come and do the show. David came to the end of Buffy, so maybe Sarah will feel like she owes it to at least him.

I know the feeling, to so many people who don't watch the show it may seem stupid that we get this into a show, and this emotional over the end of it, but I wish it were just a nightmare...

BH: exactly, the don't understand us,..Buffyverse fans are the most obsessed fans ever,.we really care for the shows, actors, characters and crew,...I'm member of smallville, one tree hill, harry potter, lord of the rigns, spiderman, charmed, ect boards and the fans are, okay fans, but they don't really love the shows/books as we do,...Angel is a part of my life adn its characters are like family for me,I love them as much as my mom and dad!...if the show really ends for good I will feel like I lost one of my parents

Yea I know, I've never seen such loyal fans anywhere else like I do in the Buffyverse. We love our shows, and will support them for the rest of our lives. No matter what happens to the shows...

I would be angry if Sarah didnt make a final apperance on angel. It just really needs to happen w/ everything ending and all.

And as long as we're on the subject of things in the Buffyverse that need to be resolved by Buffy, there's something else.

It probably won't mean anything to you unless you know Fray, but consider this. The Buffyverse will live on. Joss Whedon is apparently working on a sequel to Fray. If Fray were ever to be made into a movie it would be bigger than Buffy or Angel (my opinion).

There's a mystery in Fray that can only be resolved by Buffy. I'll quote some Fray at you and you'll see what I mean.

Melaka Fray and her Demon teacher Urkon are discussing the history of the slayer line. It goes like this:

Melaka:
What happened to the last slayer?

Urkon:
It was some hundred years ago in the twenty-first century.
What we know is this - There was a battle. A slayer, possibly with some mystical allies, faced an apocalyptic army of demons, and when it was done... they were gone. All demons, all magicks, banished from this earthly dimension.

Melaka:
And the slayer did she...

Urkonn:
I do not know if she lived. But the demons being gone, she was the last to be called.

I don't know about you, but I want to see the final apocalyptic battle that ends the presence of demons on earth and cancels out the slayer line for hundreds of years.

And here's something else to consider. If demons are extinquished from earth, that means no Angel, no Spike. Vampires are demons, right? They either have to die, or shanshu.

He was actually given a fair amount of time, normally its decided Mayish.

Anyway I hope Sarah comes back, if not we should raise money to pay for the few days off she takes filming The Grunge and the cost of the flight.

Everyone saying the end is hurting me, I hope Angel will continue! SMG can appear in S6, because it will happen, I have to be positive, be positive folks! We have not seen the last of Angel!!!

I pretty much count Sarah out, well screw her, beter yet, let that Levin guy screw her... backstabbers 😛

Alyson though I can see return, hope she does, but only if it works with the story!

She will... this is her last chance, after this there will be no more Buffy, she wont want to miss this, there will be no more opportunities after Angel.

That would make such a GREAT plot for a movie, and would pave the way for both Angel & Spike to become human, or both of them getting dusted...

Okay... I've been a big supporter of her right to life and not wanting to jump back into the character of Buffy so soon...

but please????!!!! The last Jossverse-Buffyverse show that we will ever see, please, please, please. I really hope she does it.

But if now--- I'll still love her!

I think she should appear on the show this year now since its ending but it would be hard for her since she is filming a new movie and she cant just get up and leave for like 1-2 months. And we probably wont be seeing Alyson either since from recent spoilers it is a big no.
