What are you trying to use the camera for? I mean.. (sorry if this sounds rude) there is a good chance to wont 'just work' by itself. The post didnt say what software you were trying to use it in conjunction with.. skype or things like that etc. That makes a difference in the functionality of said device. Just because the PC sees the device driver does not mean it will work within individual software.

I'm just trying to record? I ha Audacity. Shouldnt I just be able to access the camera without using that though? Because its a USB camera, I should be able to access it through My Computer, right?

I wasnt sent any software, just the camera.

It's titled as "20.0 Mega USB 6 LED Webcam Web Cam Camera PC Laptop+Mic". Does that help?

It depends alot on the camera.. but every camera I have had when you plug them in you have to access the camera via software from the computer.

You should. But in order to do that, you have to have a way TO access it- to tell it to record, take a picture etc. And that is software.

You have to have something from the computer to tell the camera what to do.

You could try here as a starting point if you dont have anything, but I am sure you do somewhere on the computer. I am not as familiar with PC OS and what comes with it as I used to be though.

Ok - I figured out my issue. I didn't tell Audacity that I was using a microphone. Crisis averted. You were my muse Sco. Thanks 🙂

Right on.. and thanks for the heads-up on audacity.. I may have to take that for a spin.

I was just about to tell you you might need to download updates for your drivers, but I'm glad you got the issue resolved! 😀

Ok, so now I'm on skype. The sound is working but no video.

You might have to go into skype, go into preferences, select video, and tell skype what video camera you are using. That should sort it. If the video camera is already selected then ... um...

May have to even select 'allow skype video'

It seems to recognize my camera. It just has a black screen and has that little moving round thing that indicates its loading but then it just stays there.

I'm going to try YIM video to see if its the program or if its my camera.

You have a pretty big camera, not sure if or how you can do it on a PC but you could possibly go in and adjust your bandwidth allowance. Not sure if you can on a PC but it may be your camera is taking video at a higher rate than the program allows. I do not know, that seems like one option.
