Can anyone recommend any new shows similar to Buffy or Charmed? Anything with witchcraft?

A friend of mine enjoyed 'Eastwick' but didn't like 'The Secret Circle'- both are about glamorous witch-types.

The vampire diaries and the originals have pretty vampires and witches.

Hemlock grove is more gore but includes magical beings.

I dont watch teen wolf but heard it improves and appeals to buffy fans

Wynonna Earp is demony magic. Its my current "buffy".

Yeah Lost Girl! More of a guilty pleasure kind of show, but there's Kenzi!

Tell me more about the magicians? I havent heard much of it. General characters and spoilerfree story arc?

I think I saw one ep of lost girl, should I give it another go? @HowiMetdaSlayer rekon its for me?

it's more of a guilty pleasure kind of show. So not highly recommended. ;)
The only show that reminds me at all of Buffy or Angel is Lucifer. I love the characters, and it's funny... but it's not magical per se. It is my current 'no miss' supernatural show. It used to be Supernatural, but I stopped watching that several seasons ago. Sorry, no witches... yet. Just hot Angels and one very hot female demon.

True Blood and Lucifer!!! DEFINITELY the best choices. (But Gawd, I HATE Sookie) Eric and Pam are the only reason I love True Blood, to be honest. Though Arlene was pretty funny. Oh...and dear Godric. *sniffles*

Lucifer is clever and funny. Chloe bores me, but Maze is pretty cool. I don't watch it every week, but eh, it's enjoyable.

damn there are already 3 seasons and each of them have their own arc...
basically it all starts in brakebills, magic college who recruits students with magical abilieties but if they don't pass the test they just wipe their memory. so main character and his friend end up on the opposite sides of magical society... but that's kind only the start. I mean every episode is a revelation and i can't say anything without spoiling. really. i love that the main metaphor is that magic is born of pain. and the show itself is...dark, but funny, edgy and very unpredictable

general description:
Based upon Lev Grossman's best-selling books, The Magicians centers around Brakebills University, a secret institution specializing in magic. There, amidst an unorthodox education of spellcasting, a group of twenty-something friends soon discover that a magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real— and poses grave danger to humanity.

also i kinda forgot about the Grimm tv series...it's like Buffy but with a dude lol

I like Lucifer too. Its the typical cop type dynamic but the character of Lucifer is really charismatic. His Mum is hot too 😉

I have the originals on today - very witchy really. Its all the usual cliche vamp show but thats what I watch supernatural shows for - cos I like that stuff. Its why Supernatural has me hooked. If they differ too much from that, I lose interest. I watch it cos I know its the typical mystical genre.

I never got past s1 of Grimm but have had quite a few people suggest I try it again.

I had trouble with Grimm too there's a long set up in 1st season but it gets betterbi promise
Just for a change of pace, I understand that Constantine is going to become a regular on "D C's Legends Of Tomorrow" next season, which might be interesting.

Or, it could be a total disaster.

i'm not gonna even pretend that i'm suggesting new shows here
but
i think Fringe is really worth watching
it's more of sy fy not supernatural. it's not quite like buffy or charmed but neither is Lucifer i think. but it has a vibe and i just think it's the best tv show ever and everyone should watch it(also i just love when everything is so thought through and there are parallel universes and the characters are amazing). there's no witchcraft but there's science!
