Can Buffy's Scythe Kill Illyria?

Not even with what they did to adam.

Buffy will have a chance of winning with anger emotion fuels her with power so if Illyria killed Dawn then Buffy fueled by rage + grief would stand a much better chance of winning actually i think she wins. And the scyh is power ful weapon because it is connected with the slayers. And that is strong power

Did you see what she did to Adam she stopped his minigun bullets in mid air with the wave of a hand.
Blocked all of his melee attacks with ease.
And ripped his robo-heart straight out of his body.

Illyria is much more of a challenge than Adam but i think Primeval Buffy has alot of strength that we didnt see in the show and therefore cut Illyria in 2 with the Scythe and probably tear her to pieces without.

I still think emotion will only get you so far, it makes you more determined but not necessarily stronger.

If Buffy killed my cat, my rage and grief would make me determined to kill her too, but that doesn't make me strong enough to beat her cos she's still stronger than me! 😛

Yeah but when you are determinded you will never give up fighting so i still think emotion give you the boost to actually end up killing them.

I really wouldn't. No matter how much I love my cat. Buffy would punch my head off in a second, whilst I pull her hair, or something!

Emotion does not equal physical strength. No matter how much anger I would experience after the unlawful killing of one of my cats, I would not be able to hurt Buffy, let alone kill her.

Do you see my point? You could be as angry as you want and it wouldn't make you capable of killing someone who its a gazillion times stronger than you.

To put it into perspective. You are a snail, and a bird comes and eats your sister...And you get angrier than any person ever have been...EVER.

...You're still just a snail VS a bird

Erm, in reality while that works, we are on about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, who has been the 'snail' in many situations and bested the 'bird'.

But she was a 'super-snail!'

Which makes me a normal snail vs a supersnail = I lose.

I know! The snail is superpowered, and the bird symbolizes Illyria. I figured I could just expect people would get it without explaining myself like others do. It seems to work

But, without jumping to Ryons side in this because I think Illyria would win, The Mayor turned into a full blood demon, and Buffy beat him.

Glory was a BIG 'Bird' and in a fight Buffy eventually bests her.

You can use those kind of analogies if you like, but the fact is they don't work for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, that ficticious program, because Buffy has beaten what seems like unbeatable odds before.

How exactly again did Buffy beat the Mayor? With lots of planning and explosives right?

And Buffy didn't beat Glory. She stalled until Glory got that thing in her head, and reversed to Ben, where it was Giles who finally "killed" the beast

Doesn't matter how she beat the Mayor - she lived, he died.
The point is, she used what abilities she had to beat him.

With Glory, she went toe to toe with her and in that final fight, she beats her.

I didn't mention the fact she was killed, I said that Buffy beat her.

You really ought to look into the situations again before you continue this conversation because you're point is coming from a place of ignorance of the facts.

Also, I mustpoint out, the reason that Ben was killed by Giles and not by Buffy is because Buffy didn't want to be a killer, she had the opportunity but instead told Ben to disappear - Giles then took it upon himself to get rid of the problem.

Ok, everyone has different views on this topic it seems, so let's try to remember that before this descends into chaos and I have to stary kicking asses...again, lol.

And I still think that Buffy has no chance against full power Illyria. Even post 'Time Bomb' Illyria has more than enough strength and power to take out Izzy and his cohorts single handedly, so Buffy would be no problem.

Are you posting this in every single topic now because unless you are, its pointless here.

Why would it 'descend into chaos' - we're discussing an aspect if the original topic that was brought up in a different way to look at it.

Granted I am getting the impression that certain members are just disagreeing with some people just for the sake of it, but so far its just a regular discussion.

I take this back, you were only doing your job, apparently!

Yeah but i thought buffy uses her emotion to give her aderline.
you are not going to vs buffy because why would buffy kill your cat ??????? lol

If i was you i would totally have a goo and when she punches you down i still get up for more. That what i would do in a fight when i know somebodys else is alot stronger then me but my anger give my instint a message to say not to give up.

That what i am saying for buffy she always win and i am sure she stated to kendra [condescending] Oh, I know so. You're good, but power alone isn't enough. A good fighter needs to know how to improvise, to go with the flow. Seriously, don't get me wrong, you really do have potential. And i also imaginenation can win you the battle sometimes.: king :

It's not even close. I could see arguing Dark Willow, but not Buffy.

True Illyria is hundreds of feet tall, has mastery over time, is omnipresent, possesses some telepathic ability, simultaneous fought dragons & jets, etc. etc.

Illyria was not omnipresent was she?
^it dont really matter what her true form was like. Its the Fred form that counts. And looking at what Hamilton done to her its definatly very possible Buffy could take her, one way or another.

Hamilton has nothing to do with this because Hamilton was only beaten when he let slip that within him was part of the power of the Senior Partners, something Buffy couldn't utilise.

This is very 'cock of the school'.

From where I am from, that means if you fight and beat the kid who beat up another kid, immediately you're classed as being able to beat the other kid - thats not the case because there are too many variables to take into account.

^yeah, i suppose what Hamilton did doesn't make a difference to Buffy v Illyria. But anyway, i was just trying to say True Illyria doesn't come into it either.
