Regarding a huge spoiler for season 9
Buffy's pregnancy and losing a arm
. Don't read more or click any links if you don't want to be spoilered.

I can't link to where I found the photo, since it's another Buffy forum, but here it is on the artist's(smiler's) website. http://smilercustomfigures.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=142348534

Some more images here, in the middle http://smilercustomfigures.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=11964339

This was first posted on that other forum Oct 29. Creepy, huh?

This is what the artist had to say about the piece;

"A future look at Buffy.
Not many slayers live to see their 31st birthday but Buffy has always been the exception to the rule - but not without cost this time. Since losing her arm and the birth of her child Buffy has become even more alienated from those around her, but as ever, she never neglects her duty, seen here patrolling with her son .... Billy!"

She seems oblivious, doesn't she? People over at whedonesque seems to think she knows something, but I don't. But it's cool that she somehow predicted what was going to happen.

Thank you! Great find!
Huh? What's so creepy about looking up spoilers of S8-S9 and figuring out the
pregnancy
clues ? I knew it was coming since issue 35 of S8 was out - but nobody have been interested to listen. Same as I said Angel was Twilight 4 months before Twilihghtgate. And the
one-armed
rumors were out there since beginning of October, I believe - or sometime around that.

Not sure if the artist have read anything about season 9(she read some if not all of season 8 though), issues or spoilers, but I'd like to hear more. Which clues to the pregnancy and Twilight were there? Which one-arm rumours?

I myself couldn't see Twangel, pregnancy or loss-of-arm coming. Didn't we just figure that Twilight was someone Buffy knew? This could be very obvious to some about the Twilight stuff, but it was months since I discussed Twilight, so forgive me if I forgot something obvious.

I just thought it was very cool that a artist made a one-armed Buffy figure with a baby just months before it's revealed that Buffy is pregnant and lost an arm. Clues or no clues, I doubt there was enough clues to be this accidentally accurate.

Do we keep the spoiler tags or not?

In issue 35 Buffy is wearing Nikki Woods clothes - and the writer interview hinted heavily at Nikki
See Brad Meltzer interview about issue 35. The moment I read he wanted that particular Slayer's outfit on her I immediately suggested Buffy is going to be
having a baby
.

As for Twilight clues - they were equally numerous. But the main ones were : 'itchy neck' comment; and the Beautiful Sunset issue 'I am not the one standing in the middle of the graveyard wearing a mask' - 'but you will be' from Numero Cinco. (Yes, I am that much of a nerd to remember.)

No need for spoiler tags anymore I suppose, since the thread if spoiler marked. The ones in the first post was just to make sure no poor sucker stumbled into the thread without reading the spoiler mark.

I don't have issue 35 in front of me, but that does sound like a pretty good clue. I enver heard it mentioned before, very good catch.

I do not however get the itchy neck clue(how it's Angel related), and I don't think Joss had plans for Twilight back in season 5 of Angel, so even though the line has a new meaning today, I don't think it was meant to be back then.

Angel is beheaded by Gunn in issue 16 of AtF. Yes, I believe Joss did have plans for Twiligh as far back as AtS S5. Joss' plot have very long roots. He is in the cemetery, wearing a mask, in the middle of a night - in Beautiful Sunset and Riley's One Shot which is a prequel. But of course, you believe what you wish to believe.

NUMBER 5 You are one strange man, Señor Angel.
ANGEL I'm not the one in a mask standing in a cemetery in
the middle of the night.
NUMBER 5 No. But you will be.(toasts Angel with his
coffee)

Actually, I believe what I'm told, or what's logical. From what I recall, Joss has said he came up with the idea of season 8 after season 7 was cancelled. I assumed that meant after season 5 of Angel as well. However, I don't have a definite source for that(and he could just have wanted to throw us off the trail), and after googling like crazy, I couldn't come up with a better way to show that Joss doesn't seem to have planned season 8 in advanced other than how this interviewer asked Joss how he came up with season 8. http://www.tvguide.com/news/Buffy-Vampire-Slayer-35722.aspx

So my money is on that numcero cinqo just wanted to point out that one day Angel would be alone in a cementary as well, avenging lost ones, or whatever.

But if I remember, I'll ask about the itchy neck thing and when Joss started planning Twilight in the next Scott Allie Q&A, since while I believe it's very far fetched, but not impossible.

I mean, it's very likely that there should be false clues. It's 12 season on TV after all, it would be weird if something didn't make us go "Hey, that might be a reference!".

From that interview it is clearly logical and obvious that Joss intended the BtVS to end at S7, but many loose ends were left hanging. It says nothing of the AtS, however, and we know how much Joss was involved with S5 of Angel - it was basically his sole show the entire season. He did not know Angel would end after S5, as he was planning for S6 that turned into AtF comic eventually. It is quite plausible that he planted firecrackers like wrestler mask and the cemetery in advance - especially if you read Jeanty's notes in his sketchbook. He was exclusively told by Joss to draw Twilight as somebody wearing a Mexican Wrestler mask.

Those figures are awesome! Me want one.

I don't know about Buffy with a bionic arm and a baby strapped to her back...it's just, I don't know, unfeasible.
