Can you cook??

I like cooking cookies, especially chocolate chip, and i'm fairly good @ cooking cakes. I made chocolate chip fairy cakes, and everybody ate them, they went too quick.

I can also make food for myself, like chilli and lasagne, but because i'm allergic to everything, it's really simple.

Lol i think my comparison to others here I'm a pretty good cook. I do well in my house; but being the only female the boys expect me to cook for them! I don't generally follow recipes; I make it up as I go along, and give me a bunch of ingredients I can almost always make a meal out of it.

My favourite dish is pasta with a tomato based sauce; passata and concentrated puree, with some sweet paprika and a bit of cayenne, and possibly some beans (protein because I'm veggie). Unlike my housemate "why is my pasta still crunchy?" lol 😀

I can cook but don't very often, well not what I call 'real' cooking anyway. My speciality is actually baking, as in cakes and pies etc - apparently my pastry is to die for... My other big hit is my cheesecake which I've been told numerous times is 'out of this world'. As I'm a fussy eater I rarely cook spicy things, although hubby is a bad hand in the kitchen too, so anything spicy is his department. My kids are not as bad as me but when it comes down to food though they mostly prefer good old plain cooking like cottage or sheperd's pie, lasagne, spag bol or at this time of year a good old fashioned beef stew & dumplings. 😀 As you can tell they eat well! 'lol' 😀

You can ask Willow though - I cook for others but rarley can be bothered to prepare meals for myself!

Cordelia's speciality is "the opening of a packet of crisps".....not that I'm any better sometimes 😉

Is hubbie a dab hand or a bad hand? I'm v confused 😉

My dad would say I can't boil water...but I'm not that bad 😛 .....Ok maybe I am....if I didn't have a microwave I wouldn't do any cooking at home 😀

I can cook anything, as long as I have proper ingredients and the recipe., but usually I make anything that comes from a box or can... 😀

I am a very good cook. However, hubby worked as a cook for several years, and he actually LIKES cooking, coming up with crazy new veggie recipes (for me!) so I just let him go nuts in the kitchen.

My favourite was the Mexican/Irish casserole..lol it was interesting!

Okay - time for the ignorant American to once again bust a move. Cordelia and Mr. Pointy, you've both mentioned "spag bol" in this thread. I have to confess that I've never heard of it...I'm guessing it's a traditional English dish? What's in it?

Not exactly traditional English: it's spaghetti bolognese aka meat and tomato sauce over spaghetti. We just all call it spag bol for short 😀

I can cook, i just choose not to. It just doesn't interest me in the slightest. I can read instructions and follow them, but it's not an all fired passion like it is with some people. My hubby is a pretty good cook which is just as well otherwise we'd all starve 😀

And Willow, *love* your banner 🙂

I can cook, but I don't really like to, just cause it takes a long time to get something good. Sometimes its worth it though. I usually just cook rice though, its easy and short. I really don't like cooking in my apartment though because our stove is messed up and smokes alot more than it needs to. One time I was making garlic chicken and all our fire alarms went off for about 15 min straight, cause the stove kept smoking. It was good when I was done though. 🙂

God no, I think I can even burn water. Somethings... I can, but you'll live longer if you never have to eat my cooking. 😛

Hey Keenie thanks 🙂 The banner's one of Cordelia's concoctions, she did it as surprise for me.

I'm really worried bythe lack of cooking skills on this board; I wonder how everyone survived Xmas.... 😉
